• Description

  Annabelle is short, about 5' 6", and her build is slim and almost boyish, with small breasts, wiry muscles and very little fat. Her head is covered with an unkempt mess of red hair that falls in a curling mass to her shoulders. The skin on the nape of her neck and behind her ears is coloured like verdigris and has a slight scaly texture that is easily mistaken for a rash or infection at a quick glance. Other parts of her body have this patterning too but are usually covered by her clothing.
  
  The travel attire she usually prefers is a sleeveless red robe, cut down the side up to the hips and only draping down to about the knees, a pair of fitted tan trousers and a pair of wolf-hide boots in traditional Northern style. She often also keeps lengths of grubby, off-white silk cloth wrapped around her wrists and biceps like bandages.

• Biography

  Annabelle was born in the village of Deadsnows, on the foothills of the Nether Mountains in Luruar. Her childhood was relatively normal, though strange green markings on parts of her body made it slightly more difficult for her to make friends. At the age of eleven, she was sneaking into Icespear House to look at the adventurers who had taken lodgings there. She was caught by their wizard, who recognised her latent power and taught her to use some of it, amounting to a weakened version of prestidigitation, which she used extensively for playing jokes on her friends and the adults of the village. She was caught a few years later, up until which point people had suspected that some kind of mischievous spirit had been wandering the village.
  
  While she couldn't be officially punished in any way (she had not technically committed any crimes), the villagers sought to get rid of her. Annabelle's parents were surprised to find that one day, about a month after she had been caught, a number of villagers turned up to their cottage's door with a bag full of gold coins to pay for her formal tuition in Arkhen's Invocatorium in Silverymoon. Far, far away.
  
  Naturally both skilled and arrogant, Annabelle did well in the Invocatorium, though not exceptionally so. Her easy mastering of spells and abilities annoyed many of the students who had more difficulty and had to work harder at the Art. This, coupled with her arrogance, meant that she was not particularly well-liked by most of her fellow students and often frustrated the instructors, who saw that she could be much greater than she was if she simply put some Hells-damned effort into it.
  
  By consulting with both the staff at the Invocatorium and the Lady's College (the corresponding academy for wizards), Annabelle determined that she had copper dragon ancestry, which explained the markings on her skin. This set her off into a frenzy of researching dragons, especially copper dragons, and learning their language. She eventually decided to give herself the more 'fitting' name of Anaxamandri and insisted that people call her by it, eventually succeeding by sheer force of personality.
  
  After four years, she graduated from the Invocatorium with above-average but not stellar grades and returned home to find Deadsnows in the midst of its gold rush. Not wanting to stay in a town that she barely recognised as home anymore, she decided to leave again three months later, with the intention of getting to Baldur's Gate and the library of Candlekeep to look up genealogical trees, to try to determine where her draconic heritage had come from. The lack of an appropriately worthy book to donate for entry didn't phase her, however. She figured the road to Baldur's Gate was long, and she'd find something on the way.
