• Physical In-Depth

  Rane is taller than average for a "human" female, 180 cm (around 5' 11"), and weighing approximately 70 kg (or ~155 lbs), much of it in muscle. Skin is pale, though weathered and worn from exposure and criss-crossed in scars from multiple encounters. Though certainly not ugly by any degree, Rane's scars and other physical defects may mar her looks for others - personally she couldn't care one bit, and lauds some scars almost as if they were trophies, particularly those acquired from difficult fights or dangerous quarry. The most prominent defects include:

  • Scar tissue lining left eye; if one looks closely, they can see the telltale signs of an implant, but unless observed up-close it can be hard to tell
  • 13 cm white slash traveling in a rising diagonal across left arm
  • White 6 cm square cross on back of right hand - self-inflicted
  • Thin white line straight through left & right jugulars & larynx at base of throat
  • Small chunk ( >1cm² ) missing from right calf

  
  Her facial features include telltale Norwegian heritage in her high cheekbones and pale blue eyes. However, her retinas are unique, in that whenever she begins using her abilities (*when/if allowed*) they shift color to a coppery-goldish hue.
  
  Rane's hair is also quite unusual; it appears to shift colors on its own (*when/if allowed*), but not entirely at random. In pure white light with a white-ish background, it seems to be transparent, but whatever background colors are present are reflected by within it, especially those in the immediate area (less than a meter away). This can be frustrating as the constant color shifting attracts attention, although wearing dark-colored headgear can help mitigate these effects. However, these same properties make it useful as camouflage, as oddly enough her hair does not reflect the color of her skin, even while making contact.
  
  Dyes and coloring kits do not take hold, and will bleed out faster than normal. Even blood, mud and other liquid substances (such as hair products) rarely stick to her strands, although any style it is bound into will stay, if she so chooses. Acids or other destructive liquids will still harm her hair as normal, however, although bleach (obviously) has no noticeable effects. Finally, Rane is extremely sensitive to others touching or even breathing upon her hair; she claims there is still feeling in it, though there shouldn't be.
  
  Rane's most sought-after attire is her specialized one-piece suit that allows her powers to be used to their highest effect, along with her oft-repaired tactical gloves and well-worn combat boots, both in black; otherwise, uniforms and one-piece jumpsuits are common. Her normal fatigues make her hard to spot, doubly-so since she isn't adverse to changing outfits between settings, and with a guile suit she can be damn near impossible to find. While most comfortable in a wooded or forest setting, Rane has learned to adapt to any environment - which means her clothing choices must keep up as well. • Personality In-Depth

  The first noticeable thing about Rane is the detached, apathetic attitude. Not necessarily angst, but she simply has a cold, dead appearance, rarely smiling nor giving any reaction beyond eye-contact. When she speaks, her voice is mostly monotonic, giving only hints to the emotions at play, but never anything definite, leaving interpretations up to the individual. The only time any genuine change happens are when she reaches or is pushed to the extremes of her emotional range, and these abrupt shifts can be jarring; one moment she seems cold as a frozen lake, the next she could be screaming in someone's face, laughing (though only a little), or breaking down in a moment of distress.
  
  Confrontation is not something she deals with very well; someone getting up in her face will find her turning around to walk away, unless it is necessary to stare them back down. Her opinions are blunt and realistic, never sugar-coating the truth or lies - which sometimes makes it hard to tell which one she is doing.
  
  Rarely does she act without thoroughly planning her angle of attack, and even seemingly spur-of-the-moment decisions or actions are likely planned out. Some might call her a control freak, but Rane hates deviation from her "plans". And when they are (oft inevitably) ruined, it can cause quite the fit of rage - especially when it may have been done by someone who was supposed to be working with her.
