• Appearance

  With his fair skin and white hair, Livv often stands out in a crowd, especially since his favorite jacket is made of bright white leather. In fact, most of his clothes are white, or at least light colored; he's not tacky enough to dress in white from head to toe, but he does avoid darker colors if he can. He burns easily, even after years of sunburns, so it isn't unusual for him to wear a scarf or carry an umbrella, even in the middle of summer. His hair is kept trimmed short in the back, and he dyes the underside of the quiff left in the front - the color depends on what was on hand at the time, although he prefers greens or blues if he can get them. He's normally too lazy to style his hair, so it hangs in his face most of the time.

• Description

  Livv is not an asshole by nature, but the circumstances in which he's forced to survive have bred in him a certain self-centered nihilism that serves him well. Cheating, lying, abusing his powers - nothing is beneath him if his life is on the line. Unfortunately, this approach to life leaves little room for actual friends. The few alliances Livv has are tenuous at best.
  
  Livv is what is known as a "ment," someone who can read and manipulate emotions and, to a lesser extent, thoughts. More often than not, Livv's friends are merely people under his influence; if he's away from them for more than an hour, his power over them fades, leaving them well aware of what he did and usually justifiably angry.
  
  Born in one of the few remaining cities in a dystopic future, Livv was raised in a communal housing unit with other children his age. Although nothing seemed unusual at first, by the time he hit puberty, Livv had developed an uncanny ability to get his way. Luckily, the first one to notice something unusual was Livv himself - a smart boy, he put two and two together and realized he matched the warning signs of having a Talent almost to a T. He briefly considered turning himself in for reeducation until another young men in a nearby housing unit did. Livv caught a whiff of the boy's terror as the guards approached.
  
  As he grew older, his powers became harder to hide; rather than risking being turned in, Livv fled the city and his easy three squares a day. A few months of near-starvation in the wastes surrounding the city gave Livv a newfound moral flexibility, and most of his meals ever since have been mostly paid for out of other's pockets.
