  Youth, in both mind and body, clouds the heart of this doe. Innocence, caring, trust. Naught but 16 years of age, the sika deer found herself lost during a trip, and in a turn of events she could not control, found herself here. Clothed in a simple golden dress, she hopes her parent will find her, but deep in her heart, the fear of being lost forever torments her. Break her or take her as she is, sweet, innocent, and caring. Which do you choose?

• Biography

  Born into a loving family, a little fawn named Esparanza was the only child of Alma and Kalem, a Battler of the same herd, were the happy parents of twins. Born at the beginning of spring, these two little fawns were supposed to be the happy family the two adults wanted. Instead, of the two fawns, one of them was not strong. This little fawn was deemed unwell, and given a maximum of two weeks at best. The twins were not named right away, for fear they might get too attached to the little fawn who was not going to survive. A few days after the birth of the twins, they woke up to find that only one of the two had survived the night. This they had expected. What they had not expected that the little boy who had been strong as an ox would be the one to pass away. A boy and a girl had been born to the happy couple, the boy healthy and with a long life ahead, and a girl, not moving very much, weak cries, and labored breathing. The girl was given a few weeks at best, and the boy deemed a future success for the herd. No one knew that three days after their birth, the healthy boy would be the one to die in his sleep.
  
  With the unhealthy female the only one left, Alma wasn't entirely sure they would still have a family. Over the next two weeks, the fawn survived, and seemed to improve. As much as the loss of their son hurt them, they began to have faith that their daughter would survive. They finally gave her a name, one that showed their faith. As hopeful as they were, they bestowed the name Esparanza on their little girl, a name meaning hopeful. They had faith in the strength of their fawn, and their faith was not useless. As time went on, the little fawn began to regain health. A miracle at best, their little miracle child was the joy of the two parents.
  
  Time went by and Esparanza grew up. Elementary school came and went, followed by middle school. A sophomore in high school, she joined the swim team under the suggestion of her parents. She hated swimming and water deeper than two feet, but she did it to make her parents happy. Due to the swim team, her parents came up with the idea to take a boat to an island where there was a local swim meet. Esparanza won first in two events and second in the other three, and on the way home, a storm hit.
  
  Her parents didn't know how to handle the choppy waters, and during the storm, Espi was swept overboard. Thanks to her swimming skills, she kept above the surface, but her parents didn't notice in time. Hours went by, and as the doe began to grow tired, she heard the horn of a boat. She was picked up by a kind looking Husky who took her in and let her rest. When she woke up the next day, the same husky that had saved her life had sold her to earn some petty cash.
  
  Finding herself thrown into the life of slavery, Esparanza worries that she will be ruined before her parents can find her. She wants to finish school, go to college, have a life. She is fearful of the future, but greets each day with hope.
