  Name: Appel—because in all his years he's never learned to spell his own name correctly. Apple, that is, or: Julian Apple Chessire, to Mortal Folk.
  Nicknames or Aliases: Appel, itself, is more of a nickname than a given title.
  Race: Lake djinn.
  Age: Looks a lot like a long-limbed juvenile—eighteen or nineteen, or to some, twenty-something.
  Gender: Male, although his biological sex is anyone's guess—he's been known to don a dress or skirt in his time, if only for a bit of relief from the banality of undying lake-life, or for the simple fact that they washed up on-shore and he had already expended the rest of his wardrobe.
  Personality Traits: Appel is a veritable man-child. While he may very well be hundreds of years old, he still has the heart of a child—and the exuberant, laughing spirit of one. Occasionally lazy, the boy forgives himself for dallying about in the sun, long naps in the muggy shade lakeside, and generally putting off what needs to be done today, for tomorrow, because he has all the time in the world to do it. And what is "it", anyway, but maybe, just maybe, fishing for supper, or repairing a leak in the hut, or finding shapes in fat summer clouds, or jarring fireflies to use for light during a particularly nasty thunderstorm...? He is tranquil, and pacifistic, and gravitates toward those with spirit, and those who are filled with laughter and life; and those who appreciate a good nap and snuggle.
  
  Occupation / Trade: Nomad; fisherman; farmer; florist; a general layabout. He may pick up odd jobs now and again to occupy his mind, though the tangible currency earned means very little to him (and he usually is given the boot after a day or so...).
  Education: None at all, apart from years, and years, and years to grow wise and lust for new knowledge. While he can not spell very well, and his handwriting is comparable to caveman scrawl, the djinn can be quite eloquent when he wills.
  Romantic Status: Unsmitten.
  Marital Status: Unwed.
  Orientation: An all-encompassing brand of pansexuality, where potential suitors take not a physical form in his memory but an aural one, and are appreciated less for gender and physique specifics, and more for constitution and psyche.
  Physical Disorders or Drawbacks: None; Appel is "fit as a fiddle", as they say. Healthy as a horse. Well as a whale, like.
  Mental Disorders or Drawbacks: Well, he isn't the sanest (and you wouldn't be, either, if you'd spent as many years as he had baking in the sun at the edge of a lake), but the number of screws loose-cards short-rockers off is certainly not significant enough to be mentioned.
  Height: Five feet, ten inches, approximately.
  Weight: Roughly twelve stone.
  Physique: Lean and long, a definitive swimmer's physique; stronger than he looks; resilient and wholesome.
  Skin: Dark all-over (excepting, of course, an embarrassing tan-line or two); spattered with freckles here (cheeks), there (shoulders), e'rywhere (...erm...). Smooth, with no scars or deformities to speak of. Tracing the lower abdomen is a smear of prismatic green, gold, and blue scales.
  Eyes: Lush, sharp green—creme de menthe, shattered with flecks of honey concentrated 'round the pupil (a vertical slit).
  Hair: A veritable mess of nigh shoulder-length curls, braids, naturally-formed dreadlocks, and at any given time an assortment of beads, bones, flowers, feathers...
  Modifications: Wood plugs in each ear (1").
  Physical Characteristics: Long, slender, sensitive elven ears; modified gill behind them.
  Attire: A wardrobe of borrowed things, salvaged things, dripping with shore-washed, pebble-battered baubles and the jewelry of fated swimmers, sailors, and the like. With anything and everything, however, Appel wears a large, floppy straw fishing hat.
  Scent: Dare you say he smelt like a fish! Well—sometimes, he does! But not all the time; most times, he smells fresh from Mother's plumeria garden, or sometimes a romp in the wild honeysuckle, salty and sweet and deliciously rain-muddy.
