  Ana'ji is the youngest of five born to the eldest brother of the Keer clan, a wealthy and highly political family line in the desert city of Chesheek. Anaji's parents were both ambassadors for Chesheek, though while her father's role was political: visiting neighboring cities and towns in efforts to seek peace and trade, her mother's was a religious one: spreading 'Light' to the farthest reaches.
  
  Ana'ji having just come of age, chose to follow in her mother's footsteps and become a Priestess of Light, which meant a week-long initiation, followed by a long trek to the Apt'hesh Oasis, where she and her fellow initiates would fill their golden chalices with the naturally sweet water, then carry them back to the city, where they would fill the pool beneath the golden statue depicting Apt'hesh in the main court of the city.
  
  But that was not meant to be.
