• Biography

  Yuki had developed a severe case of pneumonia at a young; permanently restricting his lungs from filling fully with air and breathing became very difficult for him even after the pneumonia had past. The second affliction came on suddenly; it was only a few days after the pneumonia was over that the doctor (Satsukina Segawa. Emerald elf) realized that Yuki had developed ARDS*. It had caused deep injury to the prince’s recovering lungs. His breathing became abnormal and rapid when doing the simplest of things, and because of the lack of oxygen, he started showing signs of cyanosis*. The added stress makes his body work harder and closes off his airways. On occasion, he would have an “attack” and pass out from the lack of oxygen if he wasn’t tended to in time. Due to the frequent attacks, the lack of oxygen began to take a toll on him in more ways than one. Within a couple years the ARDS got worse and he soon developed more symptoms. Yuki began to rapidly lose weight, developed abnormal heart rhythms and seemed to be constantly fatigued. All of the added stress from being the crowned prince forced Yuki’s already frail body to work at its limit. It was only a couple years after that his lung started to bleed. In turn, he started coughing up the blood, and swallowing what he couldn’t cough up. The blood in his stomach also made him sick.
  For years Yuki’s condition only seemed to worsen; leaving him bedridden for months and unable to move.
  Prince Yuki fought long and hard for his life. He lived much longer than most would, and survived seven years of the ARDS but died as a young adult when his weakened heart gave out.
  
  *ARDS---Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome occurs with sudden, extreme inflammation, damaging the small blood vessels in his lungs.
  *Cyanosis---blue color to lips, skin, fingernails due to lack of oxygen
