• Description

  Home: The Dragon's Tongue. Otherwise, sleeps outside in the trees.
  
  Favorite Food: Wild kill that she hunts herself. Deer, boar, buffalo, rabbit. She doesn't seem to have a favorite meat.
  
  Least Favorite Food: Have not yet found anything she won't eat. Doesn't mean it's not out there yet.
  
  Favorite Outfit: White button-up blouse with plaid skirt and boots. She loves her white blouse very much so.
  
  Weapons: Bow and arrow, bone knife, bone dagger, obsidian knife, obsidian dagger, staff. I have the distinct feeling she knows how to use a crossbow, but does not own one.
  
  Spells: Ari's spells tend to be shamanic in nature. For battle, she has to take a day to prepare her spells.
  
  Occupations: Shaman, owner of The Dragon's Tongue.
  
  Oddities: These are mostly for when the atmosphere in the bar is silly. She has a pair of removeable displacer beast tentacles. The spades at the ends don't have claws, but instead nubs that are soft and good for giving massages. The tentacles seem to be able to stretch pretty far. She can become Tiny-Ari, which is a faerie version of herself and can fly. In her normal form, she only has wings when someone in the room points them out. The same goes with her tail. Otherwise, she looks like a normal elf-dryad thing.

• Biography

  Heritage: It's not entirely known where her dryadic heritage came from. She was raised in her tribe with her father and other tribal mates. She was given to a milk mother as a child. It's vague as to what happened to her mother. [In all honesty it could be safe to say that her mother was a dryad. That's what most people conclude. But my characters have a knack for running off into left field, so that piece of history is not conclusive yet.]
  
  The specific type of dryad that Ari is an ash tree. But she is capable of housing plants other than ash trees.
  
  Some biology on her heritage: Ariante was born with her hair green and its ability to change colors depending on the season. It did not start growing leaves until just before she left her tribe. She is covered in a vast variety of vines species. Certain plants can attach to her and either be parasitic or symbiotic. The symbiotic vines make roots that go deep into her body. They give her sustenance from the sun and some of them can boost her in her shamanic ventures. They require a lot of water, so she tends to need a lot of it.
  
  
  The Oakenfold Tribe:
  Ariante's tribe consisted of wild elves and a large cluster of faeries that co-habitated with them. The region of the forest was known as Oakenfold, which was how the tribe obtained its name. The forest was thick and filled with incredibly tall and ancient trees. Their homes were built in and around the trees. They lived on the ground and in the branches above.
  
  The Oakenfold tribe is a tribe of barbarians. While traditionally barbarians relied on raw strength, the wild elves of this tribe relied on their stealth, mental alterations (I'll explain that in a moment), intelligence, and their agility. Their strength was also depended upon, and so the wild elves tend to be more muscular and stronger than their civilized high-elven brethren.
  
  One of the examples of mental alterations was becoming a berzerker in battle. Ariante knows how to build up to this point, but in the bar setting she hardly ever runs into the opportunities to add the emotional energy into her reserves. The bar is significantly calmer and less dangerous than her tribe. This is a technique which utilizes emotional energy and stores it into mental reserves where later it is unleashed in a horrific and brutal attack. Because of this, the Oakenfold tribe was incredibly strict on the use of sex and it was rare to be used for pleasure.
  
  While living in her tribe, Ariante fulfilled a few roles. She was a warrior for the frequent battles her tribe entered, mostly with the drow as their primary enemy. She was also a shaman who focused on the use of spirits, mind-traveling to other realms, and the study of the soul. She is capable of some forms of healing, but not in the sense of curing physical wounds. Additionally she was betrothed to the leader of a tribe that was located in the tundra. She left before she was to marry him.
  
  
  Travels to Furcadia:
  It's not entirely clear how she made it to the world of Furcadia in the first place or why. She was flung through a vortex and landed in FurN without any knowledge of the language or etiquette. Needless to say, it was a rough time for her. She had trouble figuring out how to wear clothes properly. Her first attempt to wear a button-up shirt consisted of tearing
  several holes into the fabric and tying it in improper and awkward ways around her body, much as she would if she were wearing a pelt. She stumbled into The Dragon's Tongue where there were some awkward moments at first with a few elixirs offered to her. She made an important friend who taught her much of how to wear clothes properly and helped her learn the language.
  
  And then much hilarity ensued from that point on.
