• Background

  A young, sweet innocent looking girl sits behind bars of a cage... waiting. She looks scared and frightened. How did someone so sweet come to be in such a dark place?
  
  Atrea's mother died when she was very young, around the age of 2 in a tragic accident. She knows very little of her mother since her father barely spoke of her as Astrea was growing up. Until recently, he was the one who has taken care of her. He just could not handle being a father, alone. He took up drinking when Astrea's mother died. With the drinking came gambling. He was always in a drunken stupor so he left poor Astrea with an elderly neighbor when she was younger, but as she got older Astrea was left to care for herself. She was not taught much in the ways of life outside her own little world. Her father eventually got into so much debt that when Astrea came of age he sold her off to the slave trade in order to pay back his debt.
