  Well. The thing is that Dr. Ashton is not an ordinary doctor. She doesn't really work at the hospital anymore. Now, she's a hunter and a part of a small group. She's always the one, who takes care of the others wounds and helps them with their problems. She knows what to do and what not to do. One thing that she hates more than anything is being bait - and she is used for that all the time. She's not particularly good at fighting, but when she found out about the supernatural beings, she wanted to help, cause she felt that she could be of better use that way, and perhaps save more people. She found a small group and became friends with them. They go hunting together and stuff.
