• Description

  Syra's physical appearance is by far more unusual than her personality. Her snow-white hair is possibly her most normal characteristic. At first glance, one might not notice the black stripes under her eyes, because Syra would most likely be wearing a hooded sweater or shirt. Without her hood, Syr's small black horns are highly visible against her white hair, and her red eyes are, to say the least, alarming. Thick black stripes travel from her eyes around Syra's neck, twining down her arms and legs to stain her middle fingers and toes black. The shiny black markings feel colder and smother than the rest of her flesh, like plastic or polished wood. If one were to stand closer to this strange being, they might notice her dilated pupils, much like those of a cat.
  Possibly because she feels a need to reflect her frightening outward appearance, Syra generally tries to dress in tough-looking clothing, wearing anything with studs, rips, or chains on it. When at home or at school, she dresses in more casual clothing, donning the usual T-shirt and jeans or cargo pants. Prefers sandals or flip-flops to normal shoes.
  Syra's personality is surprisingly gentle, very much different than what her appearance would suggest. She is slow to rise to anger, and only acts violently when protecting or defending others. Doesn't like to witness violence, and often is called a wimp because of her squeamishness. Prefers to be alone, but does enjoy the companionship of one or two trusted friends. Can be quite friendly once you gain her trust, which doesn't take much. Sensitive, perceptive, reserved, calm, and kind.

• Biography

  Syra can't remember anything before the age of eleven.
  The first memory she has is of a bench seat pressed against her face. She regained consciousness (Syra assumes she was unconscious before this moment)in a foggy grey train station, full of faded colors and cold surfaces. The stationmaster was bewildered, as he had never seen her or anybody like her before. Until age thirteen Syra lived in an orphanage, and went to a public school (although she cannot remember any details of her life prior to the day at the train station, she still had the knowledge of a regular 11 year old who had gone to school since kindergarten.) Much to the relief of the orphanage workers, who had always felt on edge around the girl, Syra was adopted by a middle-aged man named Thos. To her, he has always been more of an older brother than a father, and she trusts him completely. He's a little odd, but Syra doesn't mind.
  Is now in the 11th grade. She has a few good friends, but is generally ignored. A few classmates tried to start up a rumor that Syra was actually an evil daemon, but the students were quickly disciplined and it wasn't mentioned again, except for in hushed conversations in the bathrooms.
