• About

  Reinhild was born into slavery. Her home planet was governed by the Visrizi, lean creatures that feed from rocks. With their frail frames, but keen minds, they had conquered the world of Jittania many centuries before, slaving the humans that used to live there for their body strength, to mine the rocks they took nourishment from.
  For many years, Reinhild knew nothing else. Nothing but the darkness of the tunnels they were forced to live in, nothing but the burning of the two suns as they worked to exhaustion. The Visrizi were ruthless in their rule, and soon enough Reinhild saw herself as subject of their punishments for meeting with other humans, training, learning. There were others that couldn't accept living this life.
  
  After a particular act of rebellion, Reinhild was sure she'd be put to death. But the Visrizi were very profit oriented and she ended up being sold to a mercenary ship who bought slaves from far away lands to sell to factory-ships. However, Reinhild refused to continue living this life. She wouldn't get out of Jittania just to be a slave elsewhere. In the quietness of space, she confabulated with other angry slaves and they managed to overtake the ship, killing the Captain and anyone that opposed them. The remainder of the crew seemed more pleased than anything and Reinhild saw the opportunity to step in. Announcing herself as the new Captain, she released the slaves into the closest available planet and any being of the crew who did not wish to keep working under her command.
  
  From then on, she became Captain Harlow, of the FTLS Liberty, a freelance ship. Sometimes a mercenary ship, too, 'cause you ought to do what you can to survive there in the galaxy. The crew grew closer with time and the Captain was proud to say that they were able to face any challenge thrown at them. Well, at least they would try very hard.
