  • 247 Entry#3- The First Drone September 12th 2015, 5:00 pm

    It has been two days since the party and everyone took yesterday off. The party was so intense that we still have people out and half of everyone else is still slightly hung over. Even Doc Tanner still has a headache, but like he told me this morning, he was not going to miss a single thing. We were going to attempt to send a drone fitted with a video camera(a glorified RC car) through the portal to see if there was anything on the other side. As it crept forward, toward the Gate, we were on the very edge of our seats. We were at the point that the slightest noise would send us right out of our shoes. The front of the drone was mere inches away, we held our breath as it started to go through the gate. We turned our attention to the screen, as it turned on. Then we saw it... A Forest. There was only a brief pause, then the room exploded with cheers and applause. The gate actually worked, we can't determine where the portal leads but we now know it works. As we continued to watch the monitor for a few minutes, then suddenly the feed stopped. we can not determine what happened but now we know for sure that it goes somewhere. Next stop is animal testing, to determine whether or not the atmosphere is can support human life. If so, we are one step closer to determining if we can send an expedition through the portal. Hope things keep this pace for the Doctor and everyone else, but I still don't know how long I can stay here. Well, all I can do is prepare.

    I can hardly believe it myself, Doc Tanner and the team got the thing to work. A portal to another dimension, who would have ever thought that it was even possible. The Doc was so excited that he nearly jumped right out of his shoes, not that everyone else was restrained at all. Even some of the guards, who were there since the beginning, were elated to see the project bear fruit. They were talking about throwing a party to celebrate, but I don't think I am going. I just don't feel like part of the group and alcohol might make me blow my cover (seeing as I have never been exposed to the stuff, I don't exactly know what would happen). But I must say this is one amazing place to have a first job. Just think, A whole other world to explore, this must be what Columbus felt like when he crossed the Atlantic and found America. On another note, I need to invest in some more equipment the next chance I get. If they catch up to me, I will have to leave in a hurry.

  • 247 Entry #1- Project Begin September 5th 2015, 5:00 pm

    Today was the beginning of the testing on the Gate Project. To put it simply, it is a machine that creates a trans dimensional pathway that links two worlds together (in theory anyway). I signed up for this project a few months ago as a security detail to help out a friend I made recently by the name of Doctor Nicholas Tanner. For the time I have adopted the name Bryce Wilkes, everyone seems to like the name, think I will keep it (maybe). Hard to make friends when you are a governments pet project on the run. Luckily, Doc Tanner doesn't like the government and thinks harboring me is a good way to "stick it to the man". Since this is a privately funded operation, there should be no government involvement, which means I should be safe for the moment. Still can't let my guard down for a second, no one else knows my past, so I have to keep on my toes. I have decided to keep a journal, to help keep my sanity seeing as there is no one to really talk to.
