  Ilse can be a very hard pill to swallow. At her best, she's intellectual, thoughtful, and honest. At her worst (which is how she is generally perceived) she is vain, stubborn, a know-it-all, blunt, and haughty. Her nose is most likely either stuck in a book or up in the air and she can be far too big for her britches. She's easily disdainful of things she feels are beneath her. More than anything though, it takes her a very long time to warm up to things and therefore, its difficult for people to see the softer, warmer side of her.
  
  For those she considers friends, she can be extremely loyal and protective, which does show in different ways, but is understood.
