  Aimee was born in Montreal, Canada to French-Canadian parents Corin and Lucienne Custodio, who are both very successful in their fields of medical sciences. Despite her French ancestry, she has never bothered to try pick up the language, and her parents were always too busy to teach her. She has an older brother, but he was fifteen by the time she was born, and he ran away from home, never to be seen again when she was two. In the wake of his leaving, the whole Custodio family moved away to start their lives afresh, leaving Aimee disconnected from her two maternal uncles, her paternal aunt, all four of her grandparents and two cousins.
  
  With both her parents extremely successful researchers and always working, Aimee often found herself alone throughout her childhood, but contented herself with sending letters back and forth with her grandparents until her family cut off all ties with the rest of their family when Aimee was eleven after a disagreement which ended badly. More alone than ever, Aimee turned to writing stories and poems to escape her loneliness, which began her passion for English.
  
  As she grew up, her parents became increasingly overbearing despite not being around very much, often sharing their conservative views on a number of issues on the table in the hopes that Aimee would share those views. Due to her parents constantly looking over her shoulder for so many of her teenage years, she didn't realise she was a lesbian until she moved out of home at eighteen, simply because until that point dating had never been an option. Until this day, she has not come out to them, despite dropping a few hints about her sexuality and being a loud and proud lesbian outside of home.

• Personality

  Aimee has an incredibly mischievous personality, and once you get to know her it's impossible to avoid being pranked, or being roped into pranking someone else. She's also incredibly impulsive, and loves the idea of adventure, a combination that often leads her and her friends into trouble, however she's also incredibly protective and cares deeply about everyone around her.
  
  Due to having to hide her sexuality at home for a long time, she's also an incredibly loud and proud lesbian, believing she needs to make up for lost time, and will shamelessly flirt with almost any girl who won't take it seriously. She also tries to be as active as possible in the LGBT+ community, trying to normalise same sex relationships.
  
  Aimee wants to be a children's author first and foremost, hoping to introduce diverse characters into children's literature to normalise it, however she knows realistically she'll probably end up being a lecturer or teacher because being a writer isn't a particularly stable job.
