Description
Upon first glance; a young girl draped in a beige trench coat, brass buttons clasped from breast to hip-line, concealing all other articles of clothing beneath. Deep pockets precede a flowing, wide coat skirt, from which pale, lithe legs emerge, ended by a pair of simple, unassuming, black flats. Coat collar flattened down blends into a similarly pale neck and facial complexion, set with a pair of bright, hazel eyes. A small, round face is framed by blonde, loose curls, falling just short of the bottom of her breasts. Atop the golden crown rests a grey plaid newsboy cap, often pulled down low in what appears to be an attempt to hide her face somewhat.
Obscured by the tan coat is a slim, athletic figure, small for her age, the kind best suited to pursuits such as dancing and gymnastics. Between the two, for those lucky enough to see is a white outfit, with a distinct circus feel to it. Solid off white collar begins at her throat and continues to her collarbone, followed by sheer white lace, peppered with tiny embroidered snowflakes. Solid fabric begins again at the curve of her small bosom, trimmed by stitched patterns reminiscent of a brisk winter’s breeze. The boned corset continues until it disappears beneath a bouncy thigh length skirt, off white colour repeated until the edge of the garment, which ends by way of a crisp white ribbon, trimming the circumference of the skirt.
Slender hands and fingers sport neat but unmanicured nails, usually twirling a lock of hair or perched in the pages of a small, soft-cover book. She often spends her free time reading, preferring the old classics, especially the romance novels. Despite (or perhaps due to) her 20 years of age and avid attention to romantic literature, she remains entirely innocent and naïve in the language of love and sex, with nary a romantic encounter to her name. This innocence pervades the remainder of her life, making her quite gullible and trusting in all matters. Obedient and polite to a fault, Marceline would be hard pressed to offend those around her, however her lack of initiative when it comes to social situations means she finds little opportunity to do so anyway.
