  • Scars: Except for a few lucky shots that hit joints and gaps in the bone plate, he has no scars to speak of.

  • Personality: Hal is good at combat. So exceptionally good, that he has restrained the characteristic rage common to Jek of War. His confidence in his abilities is bar-none, and he has paid for his hubris on several occasions. Diplomatic, an experienced field medic (for Jek anyway), and a natural-born commander.
  • Mannerisms: Few to speak of. Trained away most tells and habits. May occasionally tilt his head if he finds respect for someone during a conversation.
  • Likes: Eating, fighting, travelling, and guns, like most Jek. Also enjoys history, and had a special mouse made for his large hands so that he may play strategy games occasionally. Enjoys getting shot at by small caliber weapons; the plates deflect small bullets, and he likes the look on people's faces.
  • Dislikes: Games that require no thought, strategies where violence isn't an option, and doesn't care for beaurocracy in the least.

• Biography

  Born to a small family of non-Nomad Jek living in Atlantica (old New York), Halso did not see much travel or combat as a youngster. Instead, his upbringing was relatively peaceful, although his middle years were plagued by his small size as a child. Midlings (or the equivalent of a 12 year old human) are naturally inclined to competition and violence, unfortunately for his aggressors. As he continued to take abuse from Jek peers, he met Salena Arturo, a human who fancied his calm demeanor and kind eyes. She introduced him to martial arts, taking him to a mostly human dojo, where one of the assistant instructors was a Jek by the name of Kalia.
  
  Halso trained under Kalia's direct supervision, learning human martial arts akin to Aikido and Judo. He easily overpowered the bully Jek with his training, and his love of direct combat was ignited for the first time. He continued to train under (and eventually alongside) Kalia for years, and the two grew attached to each other, spending their time together outside of the dojo. Eventually, it came time for Halso to become the breadwinner of the family when he came of age. He looked into a security firm that provided freelance bodyguards who would travel and protect their charges.
  
  Halso would now experience travel for the first time. The first job was a rousing success, though Kalia and he missed each other dearly in that time that he was away. When it came time to do the second job, Kalia came with, and they became a moderately famous (thought expensive) guard duo. Eventually a recruiter for Beacon's military police force convinced Halso - against Kalia's wishes - to join the formal guard instead. Halso and Kalia grew apart for a time, as Kalia was a Jek loyalist who had no love or care for direct authorities and missed their time travelling and earning such a good reputation. Though they were stable for a few months after their first argument, eventually it came to blows.
  
  Kalia and Halso fought in their own home. Security was alerted by neighbors and Kalia was forced to leave, or face severe jail time for assaulting Beacon personnel. Halso fell into despair.
  
  Years passed. Kalia was still wanted, though the search for her had long since ended.
  
  When the Deception War began, Halso was afraid. He knew she was the type to fight against Beacon, and worried that she would join the Coalition. His fears were justified.
