An Ailing Fortune

• After three daughters, an aging Grand Merchant Terkahl was almost certain that his family legacy would die with him. His eldest had died of an unfortunate poisoning, his second married into a rival family, but his youngest? She was the one hope left to an old man whose fortune and fame had withered with him.
  
  Invicta had a nose for profit, the strength of personality for trade, and few scruples about her customers. In fact, she had very few scruples about -anything-. The family had always sold honest merchandise, but Invicta found the margins on mundane staples lacking. It was in luxuries, contraband, and stolen merchandise that Invicta had filled her coin purse. Maybe the family name was getting a little tarnish, but she was certain once she made her fortune, the mountains of gold would make it glitter once more.

  • Invicta is fluent in several languages, but keeps this fact a secret to dupe foreign traders.
  • She is skilled with knives and other small blades, and often conceals them for sales-gone-wrong
  • Hidden in her necklace is a couple of tools for lockpicking
  • Despite being a swindler, once she has made a deal, she refuses to renege on the terms. You might have paid a pretty sum, but you'll get what you paid for
