  Born to an abusive slave merchant, Elric lost his mother to a highway robbery when he was six. At fifteen he began military service as a Hallowsburg Skrimisher, spending several years raiding enemy encampments to the East. After their defeat in the Battle of Aurisland, and the death of the captain, nineteen year old Elric abandoned the crippled force and returned to his family home. Coincidentally, his father suffered heart failure shortly after Elric's return. Taking control of the manor, rumor says he put every last slave to the sword. When Elric left the service, some soldiers followed him home, while some others joined later.
