    Inara is a princess, and her parents have very strong views on how she should conduct herself. Which is everything Inara finds borning; she should wear dresses appropriate to her status and conduct herself in a polite and gracious manner at all times. Basically they want her to be a typical dependant princess who obeys her parent's every order

    She longs to be the opposite; she longs to be able to speak her mind and dream, she longs to be able to talk a walk without a shadow of a housemaid behind her, and she longs for a friend who hasn't been vetted by her mother and interrogated by her father.

    She is strong-willed, fairly confident, rebellious and lively. Do not mistake her strong will for stubborness; if she has a difference of opinion with someone she is very interested in discussing why they have that opinion, and if she is shown enough reason and evidence she's smart enough and humble enough to admit the other person has a point.
