• Life

  Saori was born to her Japanese mother (a business lawyer) and her American father (a sound engineer). They are both very supportive of her and her choices and thus far she has not experienced many hardships in her life. She is both long and short sighted and is almost never seen without her glasses. Despite many health problems as a kid, Saori recovered well and is a well-liked and well-known face around her community. Even so, she's more the person to hang around a few close friends rather than a large circle of acquaintances, mostly because she tries to avoid drama ever since high school.

• Physical description

  Saori is relatively small and nondescript but her presence is loud enough to speak for her otherwise gentle voice. Her hair, cut above shoulder length, is extremely fluffy, and lighter at the tips. Her eyes are big and bright blue and she is never seen without her hipster-style glasses. She always pins her fringe on both sides of her face with two hair clips.
  
  Saori was fairly average at sports in school, but has since fallen out of practice. As such she doesn't have a lot of muscle tone but she does have naturally good legs for running away very fast. She's a little chub, rounded instead of sharp.
  
  Her favourite kind of clothing is wintery clothing, because she loves wearing sweaters. She will wear a loose sweater to her grave, probably.

• Robotisation

  Something peculiar happened to Saori once she turned 19.
  
  Unknown robotic life forms began to be an almost regular occurance across America and possibly worldwide. They reportedly came from space, and while some were ultimately harmless or landed in unoccupied areas, some started to cause havoc amongst cities, leading to widespread destruction. Armed forces were usually enough to destroy and contain these beings, but once Saori turned 19, it seemed like incursions were only getting worse, more frequent, and more dangerous. Life continued on as normal as possible. Well, for all except Saori.
  
  During a moment of great stress, Saori discovered she possessed the sole power to physically metamorphosise her body into one reminiscent of the robotic life forms she'd seen. Her first transformation was painful - all her organic bones turning to carbon steel, all her veins and insides turning to engines and oil and mechanics, bursting through and wrapping around her fragile human skin which became shiny new robot armour. This new form allowed her complete anonymity and the bonus ability to take on the enemy robots head-on. Since then, Saori has transformed from robot to human and back many times, bearing the burden of saving lives on her shoulders, alone.
  
  It's not exactly because she wants to be a hero or a paragon or anything, but the reason she keeps her true identity a secret is mostly just because she can't really find the right time to bring it up.
