  • Appearance: Pre-ghoul, he had amber eyes and dirty blonde hair. Post-ghoul, his eyes are now pitch black. He still has some hair left, though it's not much - just barely enough to tie into a small ponytail in the back. Hardly anything is left up top. His normal attire includes his old squad jacket, dog tags, and any kind of pants or shirt he can get ahold of, usually stained with grease. He also wears a hat with a pair of goggles perched on top.

• Post-War Life

  Donovan never lost his sense of self in spite of what happened. While he believed his squadmates - the only people who had ever been a true 'family' to him - were dead, he still found himself traveling from place to place, always hoping maybe he'd find them still alive somewhere. He did his best to try and help people where he could. He eventually fixed up a motorcycle, which he still rides to this day. He never lost his sense of humor, either, often being snarky - even if it causes trouble.
  
  He eventually was caught in a rad storm about five years after the war, an incident that ghoulified him.
  
  At one point, he settled down with a smoothskin woman named Karine at a settlement outside New York. Unfortunately, she eventually passed away. He then spent the next 100 years or so alone, only truly relying on himself, his bike, and his collection of hula girls. He did have the fun night every so often, but he never stayed in one place for long. He told people he wasn't quite sure what he's looking for, but he knew deep down he just wanted to find some news about what happened to his squadmates. He always stopped, however, to help out someone in need, whether it was clearing out raiders or fixing up some pipes in a settlement. He would do so with a smile on his face, usually not expecting much in return - just a few caps if they could be spared, or maybe a decent meal and a place to crash for the night. He's always had a bit of a hero/good guy complex, so to speak.
  
  More recently, he came across the Slog, stopping to offer his services in exchange for food and rest. He unexpectedly ran across his old squadmate Bartholomew while there, discovering that Barth had turned into a ghoul. He was informed that his squad's medic, Isaac, now went by the named of "Mercy" and was operating out of a clinic there in the Slog. Unfortunately, he was also given the news that Rickman and Morales perished years ago.
  
  Since finding his two surviving squadmates, Donovan has made his home at the Slog, doing what he can to keep the place running smoothly. He occasionally leaves to salvage supplies, but always returns. Discovering the fragments of his old family, he's perhaps finally found a place to call 'home'.

• Love Life

  A few months after arriving at the Slog, Donovan went out to scavenge some scrap metal to help make repairs on one of the settlement's turrets. While doing so, he was ambushed by raiders. A small man in black armor rescued him, becoming injured in the process. Donovan took the man back to the Slog for medical attention.
  
  The man turned out to be an ex-raider named Lance Sūn, a small angry spitfire whose introduction to the Slog was biting Misled and spraining her wrist when she attempted to treat his injuries. Misled, in turn, broke Lance's arm because of course she did. Donovan, not always making the best of life choices, quickly ended up falling for him. Things are still complicated, but that's okay!
