• Background

  -Nathan basically has two families- his biological family, who he grows more and more distant from as he grows older, and the Morning Glory family, which is basically a group of space bounty hunters and ex-soldiers named after their ship.
  
  -He has an older sister named Samathra. His parents fight frequently and eventually have a messy divorce, leaving Nathan with extreme hypersensitivity to conflict. Dragons and man eating plants and sociopathic bounty hunters don't rattle him in the least, but if you yell at him suddenly he's fighting back tears. After the divorce, he looses contact with his sister, who he'd been growing apart from for quite some time.
  
  -The Morning Glory family does considerably better. They show up in Nathan's life when Fi, 'retiring' from life as a bounty hunter (not that he had much of an option in starting that life anyways) moved into the vacated house next door. Him and Nathan became friends quickly, since Nathan needed a reliable adult and Fi needed company.
  
  -Next he met Forge and Daring (played by Thelmarie and another friend), Fi's brothers, in multiple senses of the word. Nathan befriended Forge in under ten minutes, despite Forge being an absolute terror, and Fi having many misgivings about how Forge would behave around children. Now they're besties and Nathan drags Forge off into the woods to go swimming by waterfalls, or hike through wildflower fields, or help him salvage fangs out of dead dragons. Sometimes they visit some barnyard kittens.
  
  -Forge bought Nathan nearly all his first weapons, including a Westar pistol, a spear, and more knives than I can keep track of. Fi is an armorsmith, and Forge funded Nathan's first helmet, and eventually a full set of armor. Fi does most of teaching Nathan to use all this equipment, since Forge is only around for a few days every couple of weeks.
  
  -The Morning Glory family has very loose rules, but Fi and his wife Staires are Nathan's undisputed dad and mom. There are several various uncles and at least two aunts. Nathan doesn't bother about what Forge's technical role is, but it seems to be something between a brother and a much older cousin.
  
  -After he grows up, Nathan joins the Rebellion against the Empire as a scout. Forge and crew end up joining as well, not for any idealistic principles, but solely because Forge can't stand not being there to keep Nathan safe.
  
  -Forge and Nathan both give each other what they missed in their childhoods- Forge gives a sense of security and confidence, and Nathan gives a chance to drop all responsibilities for the sake of running into the forest for a few hours.

• Universe Jumping

  Medieval/Fantasy-
  Nathan has no magic of his own, but that won't stop him. He collects magical artifacts, hardly seeming to differentiate between them and his non-magical items. He can act as a messenger boy living on the streets, a cabin boy, a runaway slave, or just an average town kid. His favored weapon is a spear.
  
  Modern Greek Mythos/PJO-
  Son of Apollo, Nathan is full of light. He dreams of going on a Great Quest, but is content with the small ones every day life gives him. He fears no monsters, and has no more respect for the gods than they deserve.
  
  Hogwarts-
  Gryffindor. Nathan's wand is pine with a unicorn hair core. He has an enchanted helmet, but rarely uses it at school. He makes friends school-wide, refusing to stay within his house. He plays chaser, but would rather be wandering into the Forbidden Forest instead of practicing. Being a muggleborn, his favorite class is Muggle Studies.
  
  Assorted Mythology-
  A speckled, earth toned guppy merboy, about five feet long from his head to the end of his tail. A faun. A lightning bug fairy. A ghost boy.
  
  Modern-
  Nathan keeps running off into the woods. He has a youtube account, mostly chronicling fields of flowers, a nest of baby birds, or how to best climb a tree. Always with bandaids stuck on his knees and a pocket knife in his cargo pants pocket, Nathan is ready for an adventure. His teachers have many complaints. His Awanas leaders would prefer he pay more attention, but they can't get too bent out of shape when he's reading CS Lewis and ND Wilson instead.
