• Description

  A man with a medium tan who looked as though he were of Middle Eastern descent. He was built tall and had the toned and muscular physique through both good breeding and from years of training both mind and body. From his looks he may have looked as if he were in his late twenties; however, in truth he was several decades old. His head was cleanly shaven bald though he had a single black ponytail tied at the back of his head that ended around the top of his neck. On his chin was a trimmed goatee with a slightly pointed edge to it that seemed to go with his regal appearance. Beneath his stern brow were a pair of light blue eyes that had the look of passion in them and he was cloaked in a charismatic aura with every motion or stride he took. Usually he can be found dressed in a robe made of excellent fabric though when the situation arrives he's not above removing the robes and dressing in simpler clothes.

• Abilities

  Malik is a sorceror who dabbles in forces beyond most mortal understanding. He is from a long bloodline of those descended from a dragon and, as such, much of his family have inherited a deeper connection to mystical forces. Malik, as opposed to reading from a book of spells, forces his will upon genies or strikes deals with them to serve him. He sends his Gen – a familiar that resembles a miniature genie – into other planes to seek spells for him to use. He is a skilled in persuasion and manipulation and can mess with the minds of others. Among the things he can do with his mind are manifesting the person's deepest fears, making them see and feel things that aren't there, and weave complex illusions that distort fiction from reality. If given enough time he can even go back and start to alter the person's memories. He can cast a vast array of spells though it often takes longer periods of time for him to obtain the knowledge due to having to send his Gen familiar away to find it.

• Background

  Dragon and Phoenix: The clan progenitor is rumored to have connections to a dragon. It is unclear to anyone but those of his family that are versed in its lore if the clan founder, Zaheer al-Ankaa, was the offspring of a dragon or a dragon himself. What is clear, however, is that he is said to have tamed a phoenix. As a result of this the Phoenix became the family emblem and, though the family are able to manipulate reality by means of magic thanks to their dragonblood, the family seems not to talk much about their true history. They claim the Phoenix was the source of their clan's power and influence. Every member of the family adds the clan founders name to their own no matter what the name of the father.
  
  Afra, the Djinn: The fire genie currently in Malik's service passed down from a bargain his grandfather made several years ago. Afra is sworn to follow Malik until his death though he may not be granted wishes while in Malik's service. In addition to this Afra is paid every so often in magical artifacts and gold. Though other genies may serve Malik at some point Afra is the one who remains as a constant.
