  Melody had been born blind, though this never bothered the bubbly fairy. She had an amazing childhood with parents that loved her very much, but with love comes possessiveness. Her wistfulness for the outside world only grew as she got older, muddling through the same tasks day by day. Doing anything and everything her parents said was a chore and by the age of 17 she was feed up with it. She was very caring and excepting, but eventually her love even reached its peak.
  
  She stole away in the dead of night and never looked back. After weeks of wandering around aimlessly she stumbled across a halfling village easily taken in by the fair and sweet creatures. She was taken in by a shoe maker and his wife, a mage of great renown so they told her. Melody was intrigued immediately and had taken to following the smaller woman around in her day to day life, till the kind woman offered to train her in the Arcane something she had been much to embarrassed to ask about before hand. So with dedication and a promise to herself to learn to live on her own she trained day in and day out. Slowly over time she mastered the most basic of spells, things that helped her far greater than an average mage would usually know from them.
  
  On the morn of her 19th birthday she was gifted a small eagle hatching by her caretakers. The small winged creature became very dear to her quickly and she affectionately named him Pine. Her days grew longer as the studying progressed further and further until one night passed out amidst the piles of scrolls she borrowed she had a dream. Not one familiar to her, no in this dream she could see and not just see but fly high above the clouds. The shock woke her with a start and it did not take long to figure out where the dream originated. Many mages like herself found profound connections with their familiar but this was something entirely different and a sign. Soon with her new found ability to connect with her familiar she left the small village, after an extensive party and promises of coming back.....
