  Before Rowan went mute, he already had trouble with speaking, yet not for the same reasons. He found public speaking to be terrifying as a young child, and up to the point where he was caught in the crash. He just wishes he could go back in time and take back the plea he made that he would never have to speak in front of a crowd again. Because that wish had gotten granted in all the wrong ways. For the first year of being mute, Rowan found it hard to cope, not being able to speak to his friends normally. Eventually he got used to writing everything down, which brought him to begin liking writing stories. He happily shares his stories with his friends and relatives.

  Friendly hazel eyes will be caught gazing at you from across the table if you were to perhaps sit down with Rowan to have a cup of morning coffee. You could note the nervous fidgets he makes as he gently yanks the collar of his jacket higher on his neck to hide away the nasty scar along his neck. Something peculiar someone may notice is that Rowan is a man of few words. In fact, he's a man of no words. Someone may look to the scar splayed across his neck for an answer to that, and perhaps they would be almost correct. It was only two years ago when Rowan was fifteen that he ended up in a dangerous car crash with an older friend. If only he had seen the car in the rear view mirror coming at them at high speeds, perhaps he could have gotten his friend to swerve out of the way. Instead, the car slammed into the back and sent Rowan and his friend flying forward. He took a hard hit to the dashboard in front of him, causing severe trauma to his Broca area. Damn faulty airbags.
