• Personality

  If people had the choice between snuggling up with an ice cube or Simon for warmth, then they'd be better off with the ice cube. Simon is not much for allowing people inside, and he is usually brutally honest, and quite a pessimist. The war has definitely changed him, but every now and then, you may get a glimpse of the 'old' Simon - a nice, caring guy, who just wants to survive and help his loved ones.
  Simon is struggling with shell shock after a trench collapsed over him and his unit, which forced him to crawl through the battlefield, conquering barbed wire, gas, and explosives right next to him, in order to get behind safe lines. He has very vivid nightmares about this particular event, and it is still something he is trying to deal with. He can get tunnel vision, he can push people away - but he is still ready to fight for the people he care about, and despite everything, he still carries on. He has no choice, at least in his opinion.

• Biography

  Simon Henry Lewis has had quite a common upbringing. He is the son of a teacher and a factory worker, and grew up in Birmingham. The neighborhood wasn't exactly friendly, so he had to learn how to defend himself in order to survive on the streets. He was pretty much your typical kid, just trying to get by. He joined the military as soon as he could, since it was decent money and he had a flair for it. He still sends money to his parents every now and then, and once he advanced to sergent, he started to see a future for himself. But then the war came, and suddenly he was shipped off to France in order to protect his country.
  
  France has definitely not been any good for him. He was in a few rough battles in the first years of the war and has seen what he likes to refer as 'nasty shit'. Blown off limbs, mud, suffering everywhere. He has lost his faith in the cause they are fightning, because all he sees are just dead people. German, British, Russian, French. Does it really matter in the end?
  Simon dreams about bombs and being buried in trenches at night, and then he lives through it by day. By now, he is just trying to do his best to survive and keep a grasp around reality, but it is definitely slipping every now and then.
