• Description

  Appearance: Turgha stands approximately five feet six inches tall, and weighs approximately 140 lbs. His hair strands from the top of his head in a fair condition, stretching down to touch the mid point of his back, a waterfall of ebony hued locks flowing down. Two batches of hair lace themselves over his shoulders like banners over his shoulders, both approximately one inch in diameter and notched together by hair fasteners close to the tips. His eyes glow in a light blue hue, known to haze with a white or black mist depending upon his current influence. He has a chin that protrudes only very slightly but noticeably from his slender face which is smooth and lacks facial hair to bristle it up. His build is very thin reflecting his diet and loathing for intense physical activity. Around his neck is a pendant of crystal ore which glistens in light which was given to him by his mother. He wears it as a reflection of his faith to his family. The anomaly behind this human is his skin complexion and the addition to his cranial physiology. Slinking from the tip of the forehead aligned with each of his eyes and curling around the back of his head to a curl just behind his earlobes are dense ridges of cartilage that raise two peaks along his head approximately a half an inch thick. Depending on the styling of his hair, these can be more or less obvious to the naked eye. The left side of his face is also distorted: the skin is hardened over and hued in deep red. Reaching from the outer edge of his eye to his ear and curing down the left dimple of his cheek is burn scar tissue from an attack against him and his father. Beneath his robes, his skin has begun to scale over and harden similar to the composition of a reptilian creature. It has only engulfed his arms and a small portion of his chest just above his nipple line, severing a skin link between his neck area and his lower chest cavity. These are the Rites of Shade that he wears proudly, a memento of his promise to the gods (see History for an explanation of this).
  In most cases Turgha will be donned in intricate, almost ceremonial robes which are black in hue minus the jagged waves of design lightly tailored into the vestment. The web of light stretching full circle around the waistline and arms of the vestment is sown in a silk saturated with white dyes, the robe itself stitched from refined cotton. The design plays as display of his worldly rule that he follows as a lifelong, required philosophy. They also allow him to blend in with less opposition from the rest of the human race, since those who did see him for what he looked like would more than likely outcast him as cursed or diseased.
  
  Strengths :Turgha is attuned with the arcane arts of Light and Darkness, blessed by the respective gods through his worship of them both. In Darithias, his home continent, a very deep devotion to one of the two is prominent, but Turgha sees the error in the people's ways and states that the country's current predicament is caused by their lack of faith in the second god. Turgha's strength lies in his intelligence, very knowledgable in the ways of his land down to the deepest precinct of the towns. Politics, science, religion and lore are only a few subjects he is advanced in. His loyalties to his comrades is unmatched, believing fully that if a companionship were to be broken by unjust means, it would go against his beliefs, which is his top priority in life beyond anything else.
  
  Weakness: Although tainted by the darkness of Shade's embrace, Turgha is still vulnerable to dying from nearly all violent actions against vital organs, lack of oxygen, and toxic degeneration of the body via poisoning, as well as other mortal means of death. His faith in his two gods, however, helps to steer him from death, mending his wounds
  with Dawn's touch and hiding him from the wraths of the world. These are only a vague encapsulation of his abilities. Also he is known to become pompous and overall rude to those he deems not worthy of acknowledgement. At times this can leave Turgha in an altered state of mind and possibly exclude him from vital information or acquaintances. His beliefs make his mindset hard to break, making persuasion against him difficult especially when it is required to understand the situation.

• Biography

  History: Turgha was raised in the south-western region of Nharglis in the country of Darithias, known for its spiritual purity and devotion to the goddess Dawn. He was hardly confrontational, preferring to sweet talk or in other ways use words to escape confrontation, even as a child that was bullied for his small stature compared to the others. This was much unlike his brother, Jeh-khal, who longed for conflict amongst the children of their village. His mother, Jasmine Lavett, was a most devout follower of Dawn and had climbed the ranks of the church to being appointed high priestess of the Pinnacle of Dawn (the strongest facility for Dawn worshipers). His father, Regis Kainsbellow, was a merchant mainly stationed in Ghul'Shoan, the desert nation to the east, but traveled all through Darithias making deliveries of relics and goods from all over the nation. When the two sons were at the age of thirteen, Jeh-khal took the Vows to Dawn and joined the Pinnacle, while Turgha refused, noticing a waver in their parents' relationship due to Jasmine's zealous nature with the church. Instead, he beckoned to move with his father to Ghul'Shoan and live on the roads of the land. Staying with his father enhanced Turgha's abilities to converse with people as he took heed of Regis's mannerisms and ways of knitting words together to sway their feelings. Just as it was with his father, Turgha's abilities with his silver tongue were the source of him gaining both vital allies and mortal enemies, at which point he was split between the two in the Desecrate Wars between Nharglis and Ghul'Shoan. Mercantile routes had been closed off to Ghul-Shoan merchants by Nharglis watchmen, whom at this point had been corrupted by their overzealous faith. Regis and Turgha were in this initial squabble when the zealots attacked the merchants for not adhering to the goodness of Dawn. Regis was killed in this incident by Jeh-khal, now one of the to-be heralds of the faith and sworn to his blade to slaughter those that apposed the Sister. Jeh-khal looked to his brother and praised sympathy upon him due to their heritage, but stated he would not allow it a second time should their roads crossed again. Seeing the devastation about him and the corruption of his mother and brother though overly faithful traditions, Turgha was determined to show the world the necessities of understanding each side of the balance and respecting the balance itself between Dawn and Shade's faith, light and darkness, right and wrong, and the like. After a long pilgrimage across the land, he traversed to Lonvirth and took stay at Kasigol, the region's capital. During his time there Turgha continued his studies in his faith and the mysteries behind Dawn and Shade, as well as many other academic fields. During these studies, the grace of both Dawn and Shade spoke to him separately, yearning him to pass his findings to the world since they had become overly enveloped in one side or the other. With the gifts of the arcane arts of each of their respective domains, Turgha assured them both of their works would be done and perhaps one day brother and sister could be reunited. As a mark to ensure he would complete his task, Shade enchanted Turgha's body, lacing it with a mutating magic that changed his appearance and physiology. He ascended the ranks of the scholarly schools in Kasigol, becoming only well noted in his teaching methods. At this point, yearned by his pupils, mentors, and colleagues alike, he left Kasigol to continue spreading his word to the world through his actions as well as his teachings. Nharglis natives, led by Jasmine as the spearhead of the anti-Shade movement, have grown quite angry at his teachings, stating he is a threat to Dawn's purity and have sent out mercenaries and bounty hunters alike to stop him. Jeh-khal is one of these hunters, having encountered Turgha multiple times and squared off against his brother. The bonds of brotherhood still lie deep in them both, each sparing each other in conflict when they do end up confronting one another. Turgha's goals have gone untouched, but his focus grows more and more on stopping his mother's holy genocide in the making.
