Whether it's a blessing or a curse, she can't say, but Novalie has no memories of her childhood before the tender age of eleven. Most suspect the trauma of her birth parents' death caused the subconscious suppression of her memories, others speculated that she simply didn't want to remember, so forced herself to forget. But whatever she may or may not have witnessed paled in comparison to what she went through during her time in the foster system.

Just a mere month after her parents died Novalie and her older brother, Henrik, were sent to an orphanage while Police carried out their investigation. While Henrik promised he would look out for her, and protect her whatever the costs, he had no idea what happened when the lights went out and Novalie went to the girl's dorms to bed. Two of the staff members at the orphanage were cruel and experimented on the children, Novalie included.

The aim of these staff members was to create the next step in human evolution. Over the next few months, Novalie underwent torturous procedures, most of which she can't remember due to fainting from the pain. But eventually, their tests yielded results and Novalie inherited abilities that would help her become a 'better' human being. She was able to teleport, for efficient transportation, control lightning and storms, for means of defence, and change the very matter of her skin to that of diamonds for the ultimate form of protection.

She never spoke of these events to her brother, and eventually, the pair were adopted by a very wealthy couple with distant royal blood connections. She grew into a beautiful young woman and eventually became a successful model, touring the world and representing many companies in the process, her brother's included. Her success allowed her to travel to parts of the world in dire need of help, and offer her assistance wherever needed.

But her keen desire to help others landed her in a lot of trouble with one particular Demi-God: Azazel Killoran. She stumbled into him by pure chance, mistaking him for a homeless man and took him into her home to help him get back on his feet. It was then Azazel discovered her manipulation over lightning and believed her to be the Daughter of Zeus. Wanting revenge on his Uncle for banning him from the Underworld, Azazel took Novalie prisoner for a week, tying her up in her own home, and tortured her repeatedly. He would have killed her if Henrik hadn't returned in time.

Now Novalie lives a life full of secrets and is constantly looking over her shoulder in fear that Azazel will return to finish what he started. Despite her fear, she remains an honest, hard-working and selfless person.
