    Leila had always been a bright girl. Smart, bubbly, and friendly, if rather anxious and eager to please. All throughout her life, Leila was praised highly for her intelligence, and the expectations for what she could achieve grew ever higher and loftier. Terrified of failure and disappointment, Leila began to push and admonish herself for the slightest mistake. In her last years of college, she started to have trouble sleeping, she kept losing her appetite. Her brain would not turn off. Even still, panicked and exhausted she graduated with high marks and yet again did what was expected of her. She applied to grad school. Psychology. Ironic, wasn't it?

    The unceasing pressure and stress finally broke her. She unraveled, her behavior became destructive and erratic. The once sharp young woman became absent-minded, distant and morose. Her sweetness turned into a short fuse ready to go off at a single moment. In trying to live up to all the expectations of her success, she fell from her pedestal with nothing but a broken brain to show for it. On an ill-conceived whim, she left on a road trip with nothing but the clothes on her back. Leila had not made it more than a day in LA before she had gotten hit by a car while jaywalking. She recalled going in and out of consciousness at the hospital that evening, and a face as pale as the moon looking down on her as someone whispered that there wasn't much hope for her. Then came the taste of blood on her tongue.

    When Leila awoke, she felt better than she ever had before, and her thoughts finally seemed to have started to glue themselves back together. She wasn't complete, her mind wasn't fixed, but it had gathered enough of itself to begin mending. And her very blood itself demanded that she find the woman with the moon-pale skin. It took weeks, but she eventually located Angela Keller. Suddenly, a new eternal life stretched out before her. The mirror of normality had been shattered to pieces, and she had not desire to put it back together. To this day, Leila works as Angela's right-hand woman and takes care of matters regarding the institute and the public during the day, allowing her Malkavian domitor to maintain her mystique in the shadows.
