WHERE exactly Haemon keeps his L.A haven is largely unknown, shrouded in misinformation and uncertainty. Those few invited to come calling are not always guaranteed a chance to leave, and the still slimmer few allowed back out are compelled in one way or another to keep the location to themselves.
What they do share are stories of a manor which seems a study in contrasts. Its facade is ornate, even gothic, all stone flourishes and towering windows; a smattering of doric columns and graceful Grecian statuary. Ivy is thick on the walls, and the gardens are shady and labyrinthine.
Within, the home is an anachronistic confluence of sleek modern angles and baroque ornamentation. Some of the decor is stark and clean, while other pieces are elegantly flourished. Nearly every floor is polished to a slick shine, and every room contains at least one wall hung with mirrors, or reflective in its own right, brazenly flaunting his own lack of one. The palette is predominantly black, with the occasional pop of gunmetal or gold, broken up more often by texture than tone; velvet on sleek stone or rough silk on glass. The vast majority of windows have been blacked out, or otherwise made opaque.
The layout is intentionally serpentine, with many identical halls meant to confuse the unfamiliar. Certain rooms are located in unexpected places, and many have false copies. It is nearly impossible to traverse without a guide, whether entering or leaving. How much of this is the architecture itself versus the subtle effects of Haemon's disciplines at play is uncertain. Few visitors are allowed to wander without the host himself at their sides.
It's a safe bet to assume he doesn't keep it under his own name.
