Bard

The youngest of twelve brothers, two sisters, and the son of a third wife the elf known as Bard had no aspirations to join them in their political scheming. Instead he took to poetry and music finding joy in sneaking off to the markets and trading for treats and trinkets. Until he was of age to no longer be considered a mere child with silly fancies, and his father began to have the young elf kept under constant guard. No longer able to sneak away he toiled away in his studies that bored him near death. After all being the youngest of his brothers what point was there to him knowing how to run a kingdom or not to sneak tree frogs into the ballroom? His father's brother noted the young elf's sudden turn to sullen moping about the grand wood halls of the castle and offered to take him to his summer home. Under the impression his brother intended to simply give Bard a change of scenery to see if that would lighten his spirits Bard's father agreed to the offer.

Bard traveled to the country with his uncle where he was given his freedom again. His uncle it would turn out understood the struggle Bard was under, hating the stifling atmosphere of the court as well. Fithal, the uncle, had married a woodsprite and was considered quite odd and a black sheep of the family. Especially after he abdicated the throne for his marriage. Bard's mother was concerned about these facts when he was sent off to live with his uncle and aunt and their children. It was there that Bard learned to be...well a bard. It was also there where he stumbled upon a strange group of travelers one day in market. Mortals who had found their way into the faewilds making trades for items and stories. His curiosity peaked he went home and told his uncle that he would be going on an adventure. He had already prepared his bag just in case he would need to sneak away Fithal was disagreeable to the idea.

Much to Bard's surprise his uncle agreed to the idea, saying that it would be good for him to see some of the world. His aunt and uncle both helped him pack what he would need and so secretly he would slip away to follow the mortals to their realm and then begin his journey.
