Silver

"Stupid, stupid...prideful stupid fool." Those thoughts running on repeat through his head as the silver haired elf staggered through a dark ally. Distant and lost he could still hear the enraged voices that had chased him into these narrow winding hidden maze of side streets, overlooked by most in the city. A painful game of cat and mouse. It was up to debate who was winning the game.

The cat or the mouse...after all the twisting and dark crooked places of the city were his domain, but where his nose would be was a starburst of familiar painful fire. His thin pale fingers having already mushed the cartilage into place the best they could and now attempting to stem the blood flow without choking himself on the irony liquid begged to differ on the winner.

"Fuck." Silv would slow his steps to a stop, as his other blood stained hand moved to brace the ghastly slender and pale elf against the nearest wall as he took a small respite to assess his location. Groaning he would spit out some blood, tonguing at a loose canine he hoped he could get that to set back into place without losing it.

Breathe in. Breathe out. No longer was he hearing the sounds of pursuit hot on his ass. About time he thought. "This is what you get for trying to be a hero, fucking hell." These grumbled words came as a self reprimanding. Taking a shuddering breath in he would rock against the wall rolling his body so his back was against the cool stone wall. Slowly he would let himself sink to the dirty cobblestone below.

Vibrant eyes would close as the pale elf felt his unarguably broken nose again, with a familiar spark of heat and sharp intake through clenched teeth his magic would sort his nose and loose tooth out. Once the magic had taken hold he would drop his hand down beside him. It was exhausting living like this. Scrabbling for scraps of a decent day's pay at the brothels...trying to chase off thugs from those less fortunate than him. Making sure the girls were healthy...and easing their fears.

Normally he could handle one or two guys but this one brought a whole group. The bloodied elf counted himself lucky to have only been dealt a broken nose. This meant laying low again. Wait for it to all blow over and hope they forget it. These thoughts troubled him as he moved bloody hands to his lap to stare at them miserably. This was just how life was if you were one of the unlucky ones. Those who the pious and god fearing forget in favor of honor, glory, and richer pockets.

Leaning his head back against the stone wall behind him...just close your eyes for a few moments he thought. Let yourself a moment of rest and then get back up. Just like you always do. Tired eyes would slowly close as exhaustion took him.

The gaunt elf would shake himself awake some time later as the cold of the night and hard cobblestones seeped into his legs and spine. A weary groan escaped the lanky elf against his own will as he pulled himself up onto his feet. Groggy and beating a stiff thigh with one fist as he tried to get the limb to wake back up he would glance up at the sky and try to gauge the time. “Ah I’m going to be in trouble with the Madam…”
