Lost Oak

Nestled in a sheltered valley, Lost Oak is a secluded village that despite its small size serves as the seat to Rowan county. Inaccessible from highways or interstates Lost Oak only even shows up on a limited number of maps and requires a winding drive along forgotten scenic backways. While most settlements of such a removed position would wallow in poverty before collapsing into ghost towns, Lost Oaks has managed to mostly keep pace with modern cities through unknown financial means.


Despite the rural locale, Lost Oak has a surprisingly diverse populace while most are descended from established families, there are a healthy number of lost tourists, vacationers, and outcasts that have found their way to its streets and never left.


On the surface it is an idyllic location. Seemingly disconnected from time and reality. A leftover from "the good old days" without specifying precisely which days those were.




However, if one were to look closer.





Something about Lost Oak is not quite right. Some of the residents exhibit strange behaviors. Odd predilections. Unusual physical characteristics.
