Kagami, his own Mirror

Han Kami clan is one of the famous clans in all ages. Every member was a powerful warrior who could stand up to him or herself against a crowds of enemies. The fame came from their hard training and unnatural ways which gave them ability to harness energy and mangle their bodies to gain godlike powers. These powers gave Han Kami clan significant upper hand over every other clan. Nowadays they run a humble nation of their own.
It is said that gods themselves looked down upon their arrogance and habits of mutilating their human nature, which is why the whole clan became cursed. Only males of the clan were able to gain talents, for if these deity-like people were to breed their blood any further, they could stand up against gods themselves.
Han Kami teachings are sacred, which is why it is unknown if the ability to gain talent is inherited through blood or if you can learn it as an outsider too. Ever since the birth of Kagami, rare people speculate that gaining the talent is actually because of the curse.
On rare occasions some members can gain abnormalities as their talents manifest more, mirroring their talent. Such examples are Kagami's second oldest brother who has the face of a beast, or Shinrei who's skin became paper pale and eyes ghostly blue. Some say this is due to curse that warns them not to go any further to develop their talent.

Hierarchy
The leadership is passed on from father to son, whether it's the main chief or the member of council ring. If the eldest refuses the post or is unfit, the responsibility goes to the second one in line.
The main chief, Daimyo Tadao rules in his palace with his family. The council ring members are his subordinates that watch over smaller regions and villages and inform to Daimyo himself.
Everyone else is equal among themselves. However if you are not part of Han Kami clan, you are seen as a second citizen within the nation. You may earn some respect only through marriage and furthermore if you prove yourself to be a valuable new addition to the clan.

Training
Being born in Kami Han Clan meant that your whole life will be revolved around training to become an ultimate warrior and figuring out your talent. Men are specially pressured to figure out their talent in order to utilize it for the good of the clan. Women are also to become warriors in order for them to keep the bloodlines strong and be able to defend themselves against enemies.

Marriage, partnership and family
After growing up into adult, every member is obligated to find a partner to continue family-line. This can happen ether naturally or through arranged marriage but only if it's seen beneficial. Some Han Kami warriors are able to determine with the help of their talent who is fit to be a perfect match.
One of the main traditions of the Han Kami clan is to never show one's face to strangers, which is why they often wear masks or mouth covers. The face can only be shown to other family members or partners they trust, which is an ultimate sign of strong partnership.
In the marriage the man is always the main lead who makes the important decisions. His wife is to be valued and cherished, but not spoiled. In case or treachery or betrayal the non- Han Kami member must be executed, as well as the children unless they have show ultimate loyalty. If the traitor or abuser is the clan member, his or her fate is at the mercy of the leader or closest relatives. Children must be trained and taught, unless they are seen unfit. Weak or physically sick individuals must be killed if they are a burden or thread for the clan.
