β£ D E A T H βͺ The day his heart stopped, was the day his life began.... At least that's the bullshit that was poured down his throat as a young vampire. In reality, he'd been a casualty of vampire debauchery, turned instead of killed after he'd been fed off of too heavily. Before that night, Love had been full of life, full of magic, and spent nearly every day in the warmth of the sun. It had been a mother fucking dreamland compared to the nightmare he lived now. He hadn't just died, he'd been erased.
In life, he was not only a nobleman of Spain, but he'd been young, spry, and active in the court. He'd danced, made the mistakes young men make, and he'd meddled in the affairs of those around him with glee. Since he'd been born to a family that was also active in the supernatural community, there was always an exciting undertone of espionage. Working amongst the humans, manipulating them, and making sure they didn't keep all of the power... they'd been pulling strings for generations. Politics couldn't be left to the humans, they couldn't be trusted with real power.
The way he died was a boring tragedy of getting taken advantage of by hungry vampires that drank far too heavily. They turned him, killed him, and Love awoke to death. Leaving behind his life and everyone in it had been forced on him with no notice. He was quickly thrust into new cultures, new countries, and new violence like he'd never dreamed before. And the hunger... it changed the way he saw the world, the way he thought, it nearly became all he was for a while.
β£ L I F E βͺ Love became what he was supposed to become, a vampire. He was taught by the brood of vampires that he'd been taken by, and he lived a life of indulgence. The clichΓ©s are rooted in truth, because he bathed in blood, lovers, and wine in unimaginable quantities. There were orgies, sacrifices, and such exciting, predatory cruelty. Not all of it was fun and games, he did have to contribute to the family. Part of his responsibilities became taking important kills. For the most part, he paid the role of executioner for deep debts that were owed.
Over the centuries, he hit every clichΓ© vampire milestone there was to hit. He killed, partied, traveled, gained wealth, meddled in politics, killed some more, bathed in blood, and had his heart broken more than twice. There were heinous acts in his life, stealing life away as if he could truly reclaim it through his victims. The highs on blood and warmth never lasted, though, and he was left hungry. Eventually he'd even left his vampire family, and spent time out on his own, embracing the loneliness for a time.
Since he's left his 'family,' he's dabbled in more and more. He's made friends, and he's made even more enemies. More than once, those enemies have caught up to him. And more than once, he's been able to hold his own. Love had quickly become a powerful vampire, helped along by the fact that he hadn't been entirely human when he'd been turned. His mixed blood and the magic of his undead status made him a unique mess of a corpse, but at the end of the day, he's still a corpse. -

Personality: There remains a certain quality of nobility that still clings to Love in the way he behaves. He comes off as very polite, even chivalrous. Though he does seem aloof, he'll still offer a smile as he holds open doors and offers his help in small ways. The cunning vampire is quick to make allies and friends, but most people who meet him are left wondering what's really going on beneath the surface. In a more casual setting, it's easy to discover that Love is indulgent, and has no desire to pass up on any simple pleasures the world has to offer. He'll take what he wants and is difficult to dissuade once his mind is made.
The name: The vampire was not born with the name "Love J. Lauren," he has changed his name a few times as he has navigated the ever-changing world. But his middle name meant 'love,' because of his wonderful, warm mother who had felt blessed to have her beautiful son. So, he adopted the name 'Love' and carried it through several languages and name changes over the years in some way or another.
Items: There are some magical items that Love keeps on his person at all times. Of course, there's more in storage along with other valuables as well. The first is a ring, which is actually his family's signet ring. He had it spelled in order to be able to daywalk when he wears it. If it is removed, he can burn in the sun just like any other vampire. Second is a simple, black leather bracelet that is actually a gris-gris gifted to him by a voodoo priestess. The third item one can always find on Love, is a simple cross that he wears around his neck. It's honestly just worn as a joke, he thinks it's funny.
Romance: Unlike what his name suggests, Love does not seek out romance. More than once, he's had his heart broken, he's made mistakes, and he's been betrayed. Now, he keeps his passions to the short term pleasures. Sometimes he'll take a lover for a few days at most, but doesn't allow himself to get too invested. This is, no doubt, in the best interest of those around him, as Love does not go softly into romance. Rather, he can be intense, possessive, controlling, and abusive. When he's in love, or just infatuated with someone, he's been known to meddle in their lives and manipulate the world around them to bring them closer to him.
