As a child in 1893 Oklahoma, Winston knew nothing of the horrors that the future held. He grew up on a small farm, working long days alongside his parents and siblings. The land was tough, and the work was even harder, but Winston found solace in music. His father had taught him to play the guitar, and he spent every spare moment strumming away, lost in the melodies.
As the war dragged on, Winston's experience grew. He became a battle-hardened, risktaker, some even called him a reckless thrill seeker. . It was during this time that he first caught the attention of the elite squad known as the Raiders. Their reputation preceded them, and Winston was quite literally snatched up in the middle of the night with new orders to join the Raiders.
The war took its toll, and the Raiders suffered heavy losses. Winston watched as his new friends fell one by one, their bodies torn apart by machine gun fire and explosives, there were some things even they couldn't survive. That sense of survivor's guilt continued to weigh on him as he was often the only one to make it out alive.
It was Landon who revealed their true nature. As the war drew to a close, Landon could take no more. The death and destruction weighed heavily on his soul, and he knew he couldn't continue fighting. Watching Winston bleeding out and dying in his arms he decided to do what he swore he would never do again. Transforming into a beast right before his eyes. Bones cracked in a gut-wrenching sound, his uniform tearing from his body as it reformed into nothing less than a beast a monster of nightmares.
