Dmitry Rasputin

Dmitry Rasputin, or Mitya as his closest friends call him, is a fierce and loyal servant of the Romanov family. He had always been fascinated with the Leib Guard and worked his way up to become one of the most respected members. It was during his time as a guard that he developed an unlikely friendship with Anastasia, the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II.

Mitya remembers the first time he met Anastasia, she was just a little girl with curly brown hair and big, bright eyes that sparkled with mischief. As he approached her, she hid behind her father's legs, but he could see the curiosity in her eyes. It wasn't long before she warmed up to him and they began to play games together whenever he was on duty. He would teach her card games and even curse words when no one was listening, and often causing her to giggle uncontrollably.

As Anastasia grew older, Mitya began to notice her blossoming into a beautiful young woman. He was struck by her charm, her wit, and her intelligence. Despite their difference in age, Mitya found himself drawn to her and would often spend hours talking to her about everything and anything. He was one of the few people who treated her like a person as much as a Princess, and she in turn treated him like a friend as much as a guard.

Their friendship only grew stronger over time. Anastasia confided in Mitya about her worries and fears, and he was always there to lend a sympathetic ear. She even came to him when she was ignored by her father or when she complained about her suitors, knowing that he would listen without judgment. Mitya would tell her stories about his adventures and travels, transporting her to far-off lands in her mind. They would laugh and joke, and Mitya felt a sense of happiness he had never felt before.

As the Romanov family's situation became more precarious, Mitya tried to help them in any way he could. He was devastated when he learned that Anastasia and her family were in danger, and he knew that he had to do something to protect them. When he realized that he could only help Anastasia escape reminded of his vision on the battlefield, he tapped into something and saw a secret passage for her to hide in until she could escape the palace. He felt an overwhelming sense of relief when he saw her safe, but he also knew that he had to keep her hidden from those who would harm her. He knew the likely fate of her family, though kept it secret for now, too busy whisking her off somewhere safe.

Mitya convinced his father to keep Anastasia a secret, hoping that there was still hope to counter the revolution. Grigori, knowing the danger they were in, agreed and placed Mitya as her warden. He was to protect her but also keep her imprisoned for her own safety, lest they find out she was still alive. Mitya took his role seriously and did everything in his power to keep her safe.
