Deer of the world

Down here is a nice work, found on DeviantArt, credits shown, yet there are some antelopes in the list, which are not deer, but bovine (same for the one sheep and the Pronghorn (Antilocapridae) shown). Significant difference are the horns, not antlers. Horns, from cows, goats or antelopes are permanent, whereas deer antlers are shed every year. Mostly male and female have horns (cows, goats...), in contrary to deer, where only the boys have antlers. Still within the reindeer family, the girls have antlers too.
Ruminants : All different ruminants shown on the picture. Oxford definition : an even-toed ungulate (split hooves) mammal that chews the cud (food) regurgitated from its rumen (stomachs). The ruminants comprise the cattle, sheep, antelopes, deer, giraffes, and their relatives.


There are way more 'horned' animals like deer, but here a good number is shown. All in all (yet argued) there must be 55 registered deer species. I don't know how many cattle, goats, sheep, caprini, antelope or other 'horned' animals, extinct or not.
