Lord Turaco Lunirian

Turaco was born and raised in the capital within the Lunirian family. He had two older sisters, Aracari and Quetzal. Turaco got along incredibly with his sisters, soon to become his best friends, especially for a young boy who wasn't very talkative, even if he was the talk or the academy hallways. People believed that his silence was him saying no one was worth his time, but this was never true. His sisters understood him, but when he turned 7, things changed. A notorious, murderous, and cannibalistic Lefornian family called the Nyctoria family stormed the capital and went on a killing spree due to trade agreements being cut off between them and the capital as a result of the crimes of the Nyctoria family. They infiltrated the manor and Aracari and Quetzal sacrificed themselves to save Turaco, who was never the same again.

Since his sisters were dead, Turaco was expected to be the lord of the Lunirian House. His silence was deafening and he spent his time in the lab creating weaponry and armoury for the Lefornian military. Eventually his despair became more apparent when both of his parents died after the boat they were on coming from Stellar Woods sunk into the deep. That was when he met Evelle Castell.

Evelle changed Turaco's life. He found her young and alone on the streets struggling to survive. She had run away from an abusive household and was immediately drawn to the nature of turaco and began following him around. Eventually Turaco took her in and saw her as a younger sister. Due to her past, Evelle never trusted anyone - anyone except Turaco. He was everything to her as was his wife, Corena, whom Turaco was one of Turaco's only friends as a child. Evelle ended up helping Turaco in the lab and tried to convince Turaco to implement magic into the weapons he crafted. He was wholeheartedly against it, but when a threat from 'Arabek' (Jerram) arose, he gave into Evelle's requests and used physical magic to power his weapons.

Prince Montrier Arcaze, the son of the deceased King of War, King Solomon Arcaze, sent the Sons of Vagabond out to kill both Turaco and Konstance. During an attack on the city, Turaco stood up and went to fight, especially when Evelle was taken down. He brought with him a gun he had made powered by heavy magic. Evelle saw him running to the attackers and tried to get to him because she knew as well as he did that the weapon was ready - and would kill him if he tried to use it.

Evelle ran down the cobblestone street, her legs taking her as far as they could in the shortest amount of time. She had never run so fast in her life, but she needed to find Turaco. Her eyes burned, and she tripped over her own feet a bit, but caught herself on the wall. The bitter wind bit at her pale skin as if it was mocking her for ever leaving. He told you to stay behind. Why don’t you listen to him? You never listen to him!

She coughed as she tried to run more, the air in her lungs refusing to help her at all. “Tura!!” she cried, tumbling against an alley wall, her legs shaking terribly as well as her breathing, which sounded about as loud as her heartbeat. She stared at the ground, then pushed herself off the wall to look up and out of the alley. She caught sight of him… with Vermaya. Evelle’s breath hitched, and she weakly grabbed one of the boomerang blades Turaco had made that she kept hidden under her belt. It cut into her skin, and she sucked inward a bit, but it didn’t matter.

Before Evelle could run forward, Vermaya rushed at Turaco with a sword, like a katana, though he dodged it and removed the surge gun from its holster. “No… no!!” Evelle screamed, running out of the alleyway toward him and Vermaya, who was now running toward the curse’s core. Turaco’s piercing purple eyes looked back at Evelle and he did a flourish with his hand, causing an invisible force to drag the girl back.

“TURACO!!” Evelle yelled after him, trying to fight the force, but she couldn’t. Before she could get another word out, Turaco aimed the gun towards Vermaya and pulled the trigger. For a split second, the world went silent before an electric surge shot through the city - and a light too bright for Evelle to see him. She was knocked back faster by it, and had no time to fight back before she was thrown against a building and her vision went black.

A stabbing ringing sound welcomed Evelle as she gained consciousness once more. It was in her own ears and she couldn’t even see anything in front of her except a very blurry outline of one of her hands, outstretched to the road ahead of her. She took a raspy breath inward, just to cough up her lungs worth in blood. She felt a weight upon her body, causing her to be unable to move without hurting herself. She wiped the blood off her mouth and tried to pull herself out of whatever rubble had fallen onto her and was holding her down.

“Tura-” she stammered, suddenly remembering what had happened. Her eyes then shot open completely. “No, no, no,” her breathing became rapid, and she writhed where she was to escape. The pain from it shot up her right leg and through her whole body, and tears swam in her eyes. “Let me go!” Evelle hissed, even if they weren’t sentient anyway. She pulled herself out from under the rocks and concrete, but she felt blood seeping through her pant leg. It hurt like a living hell, and when she tried to pull herself to her feet, she just fell again with a thud onto the ground. She grunted a bit, but held her breath and forced herself to stand by grasping onto the windowsill of a building and hoisting her body up.

Evelle cried in pain as she tried to walk, so she stayed by the building, walking with the support of it to keep herself up. “Tura!” she called, pleading whatever god there was for an answer. However, none rose, so she continued forward. Her arm was getting scraped up by the walls after falling against them time and time again. Evelle outstretched her arm to put her hand to the next building and continued on. All around her were collapsed buildings, many of which were in flames, providing the only light aside from the moon itself.

It seemed like the longest walk of Evelle’s life. The pain pulsed through her body, her ears rang louder than an air raid siren, and her vision was still blurred. Though none of the fire and destruction bothered her. Not now at least. Her vision immediately fixated onto the ground, where she saw the surge gun. She tried to pick it up, but her legs collapsed under her and she fell onto the ground, the gun just inches from her face. She grabbed it, it’s exterior now freezing cold. The trigger was frozen. Everything on it was frozen. Evelle’s pale blue eyes averted from the gun and looked upward to see a blurry outline of a figure on the ground. “N-no-” her voice came out in a breathy whisper. She dropped the gun and tried to haul herself to her feet before she fell once more. After coughing up a little bit more blood, she dragged herself over to the figure with her arms. She grasped onto each stone of the pathway as strong as she could with her fingers.

Evelle didn’t rush to get there. She had no strength left in her to try and move faster. “Tura-” she croaked the name out, grabbing the sleeve of the red trench coat once she was close enough and pulling it so the figure faced toward her. The vampire let out a small, short gasp as she saw him. He was more pale than she had ever seen him, and he was covered in blood, most of it being around his mouth and nose. “No. No, no, no, Tura, wake up!” Evelle cried, taking his hand and putting it to the side of her face. It was freezing. She let go and it dropped to the ground as if it had never lived at all. “NO!!” she then screamed. She didn’t even care how loud it was. It didn’t matter. “DON’T LEAVE ME!!” She pulled the lifeless body to her chest, wrapping her arms around the only person that she ever trusted. She wept hysterically, choking on her tears as they streamed down her face and onto his clothing, as she laid her head on his shoulder. Any tears that fell to the ground mixed with blood coming from the man.

“Why…” she whimpered between sobbing gasps, gripping his clothing tighter. “Why did you leave me…”
