Meridith Scarlet

Meridith is an adult woman somewhere in her 20s, taller than average and with a mildly chubby build. Her skin is olive and freckled, with pale splotches decorating her entire body due to her vitiligo. Her eyes are an icy blue, slightly sunken and with slitted pupils. Her face has rigid cheekbones, making her visibly recognizable as a Scarlet, though the outlines of her face are hidden by locks of long, fluffy blonde hair. Meridith always wears dangling fang earrings and a long shark tooth necklace.

Meridith's wardrobe tends to vary, but she strongly prefers warm, comfy clothing that borders on being oversized (even for her body type). Her favourite outfit is a large wine-coloured sweater with dull blue zig-zagging stripes that stretch across it horizontally, along with a light blue turtleneck undershirt and black sweatpants.

It's safe to say that Meridith isn't a very popular figure amongst her own kind. She's very aloof, antisocial, and is a recluse that prefers the solitude of her room. She's highly independent, though she is unreliable and HATES being told what to do. If she is left unattended, she will gladly wander off to go do her own thing.
While she has a strong vocabulary, she hardly has the social skills to use it; Oftentimes, she'll get straight to the point, and once she's said what's on her mind, she'll trail off into silence and let the others finish the conversation for her.

Meridith is incredibly intelligent, boasting a fantastic work ethic and a memory like a steel trap. She's a fast reader, and is able to absorb huge quantities of information, making her a talented researcher. She will devour any reading material you place in front of her.

Meridith has a deep soft spot for animals. Having been blessed with the ability to speak with them, you're more likely to catch Meridith having a full conversation with the squirrels and pigeons rather than with humans. The animals often refer to her as 'The Speaker,' and she is often met with high regard, through treating them with unconditional kindness, being very polite, and even being generous by offering them food.
Her preference for speaking with animals may have led to somewhat feral behavior- Meridith has been known to bark or hiss at people she dislikes, and is not afraid to bite if one tries to enter her personal space without her permission. In general, she hates people, and finds children especially annoying.

All in all, Meridith's moral compass is skewed; most of the time, when making decisions, she does what caters to her own interests or wellbeing. Occasionally, Meridith will step in and lend a hand to someone that she really likes, but she is not an upstanding citizen. If a building is unlocked, she will intrude. If there's danger present, she will run away, and won't wait for anyone else to catch up.

Meridith will not be a hero, so if you're in trouble, don't expect her to dive in and save you. Chances are, she won't.
