Profession:
Education:Rowan was not formally educated in the traditional sense. She was raised under her mother’s direction, taught only what was considered necessary, useful, or dangerous to leave undeveloped. Her instruction focused heavily on control: of her power, her reactions, her expression, and even the way she occupied space. Discipline was enforced through repetition and expectation rather than encouragement, shaping someone highly observant, composed, and difficult to unsettle. She was trained to read people with precision, recognizing shifts in tone, intention, weakness, and power without needing them spoken aloud. Court etiquette, language, presentation, and political awareness were drilled into her as survival tools rather than accomplishments, ensuring she could navigate Hewn City’s social structure without ever truly belonging to it. Outside those expectations, Rowan developed an entirely different education of her own. Hewn City’s vast vertical architecture fostered a fixation on movement, climbing, and exploration that slowly evolved into advanced parkour-like traversal through arches, railings, support beams, rooftops, and forgotten upper structures. She learned the city physically, memorizing routes, unstable stone, hidden passages, and impossible climbs simply because she refused to remain contained within the spaces chosen for her. An older guard later refined some of those instincts, introducing her to practical staff fighting, balance control, leverage, momentum, and survival-oriented movement. Though unconventional, Rowan’s skill set became deeply specialized: part court-trained observer, part architectural climber, part survivor shaped by the mountain itself. What she knows is narrow compared to the world beyond Hewn City, but within that narrowness she is exceptionally capable.
Lover: Rowan has never taken a lover. Her relationships, like her power, have been closely controlled. They are kept from becoming attachments that could be used against her or make her question her dependence. Intimacy has never been encouraged, and any form of vulnerability is treated as a liability rather than a choice. It is not something she dwells on, nor something she openly resists. Like many aspects of her life, it exists within the boundaries set for her. Its unexplored, contained, and entirely her own, only in the sense that no one has been permitted close enough to take it from her.
