      Finally getting around to writing in this thing. My thoughts are always a scrambled mess so I never bother with it but I need to this time. I really need to. There's no one I can talk to about this so I have to write it.

      A lot has happened since I arrived on this godforsaken isle. Joined a crew, made some new friends and enemies. Fell in love, then fell in love again. I love my captain and I love my Captain. Yes, I'm in love with the captain of my crew and a captain of another crew. Austyn, my lover, my captain. He knows my feelings for Krise, my Captain. But I know Krise doesn't feel the same and Austyn loves me. He's giving me the chance to prove that I can be his and his alone. I'm trying. Krise is a temptation, but... but it hurts too much to do anything but distance myself from him. It seems like what he told me doesn't matter anyways. He seeks affection in other avenues and makes me feel as if I don't matter as much as he claims I do anyways so I suppose it's a good thing I'm staying as far away from him as I can. I've been made Quartermaster and I still hold my position as Navigator, Cartographer and Helmswoman. I will have to erect a wall between us if I'm to survive trying to get over him. Even if I didn't have Austyn, I have the gut feeling Krise would never love me he way I love him...

      But that's not what I need to get out of my system. There is a man, Jack Becchino. He frightens me on a level I didn't know was possible. He seems to have a strange connection to Austyn and I've noticed whenever he's around, Austyn isn't and vice versa. I don't know what it means, but it makes me suspicious nonetheless. He seems to enjoy upsetting me and forcing me to answer ridiculous questions. He claims he seeks me out because I'm different. I'm smart and interesting. It just gives me chills thinking about it. I've only seen him twice. Once, the very first time when he scared me so badly the nightmares and somniphobia came back full force. I can't sleep any more. And I'm not allowed to tell anyone about him or he'll hurt Austyn. I saw him again at the impromptu celebration that Ausytn and I decided to throw after we became engaged. That was when he told me why it is he seeks me out. The encounter was brief but it left me shaken. I'm lucky I could regain my composure before Austyn arrived to the party.

      I just don't know what to do any more. I'm alone with this secret and these feelings. I'm hurting, can't sleep, I'm paranoid. I don't know what to do any more. Austyn is my only salvation and I think... I think I may have to leave the Valdys if I'm going to survive the agony that's shredding my heart every time I look at Krise. Especially since he told me he loves me, but then goes and gets a mermaid slave and calls her his treasure. I can't take that kind of pain. I'll stay apart of his crew as long as I can but if it becomes too much, I'll have to say goodbye to him and the friends I've made. I'm sure Ausytn would let me join his crew, at least until he decides to go straight. I just have to take this one day at a time I suppose. I have to go for now, we're gonna be shipping out soon so I need to get drunk to get some rest before then.
