  BUILD: Emaciated, but even with weight on their bones they would be boyish, regardless. They have a very small bust and little curve to speak of, with digitigrade, rat-toed feet.
  
  COMPLEXION: They have no fur upon their faintly pockmarked flesh; Their skin is quite a pale, yet somehow rose-tinted for someone who hasn't slept in a home since their prepubescence. They have several tiny scars littering their features but they are usually unnoticeable next to the grime and dirt staining everything.
  
  HAIR: Shoulder length, frizzy, mousy-brown hair that lays in matted, tangled curls.
  
  EYES: Tumultuous, stormy gray
  
  TAIL: Long, fringed with short, plush fur, though as one moves along to the tip, the fir becomes longer. Not as plush as a squirrel, but certainly not hairless like a rat or mouse.
  
  SUPERFICIAL QUIRKS: Has a severely broken nose that makes the bridge crooked from the front and bulge out slightly from the side (see drawn reference)

  WEAPONS: Two well-sharpened and expensive looking daggers. They probably stole them from somewhere, or "found" them on a dead body they "came across".
  
  OTHER ITEMS: Currently 4 gold and 95 silvers. Besides that, there is a small silver locket that is rusted shut but has the name "Marius" inscribed on the front. They keep this hidden under both their shirt and trench coat at all times.

• Autobiography

  "'Tis a rather long story, but if you have the time, I shall tell you.
  
  I was born to a relatively wealthy inkeeper and his wife. And by relative, I mean in relation to the street urchins that begged outside our doors night and day. The revolution was in its early, infant stages, causing stress and a rise in crime not seen for decades.
  
  When I was around the age of ten, my parents agreed to take in an orphan by the name of Cosette. They once told me that a toothless whore had begotten an illegitimate child. I am ashamed of it, but I was terrible to her. My parents lavished my brother, Gavroche, and I with praise, presents, and fancy clothes, while they forced Cosette to scrub the floors, wash dishes, kill rats, and other jobs that no child our age should have done. In my innocence, I did not realize that this was only a sham- my parents were in debt over their heads, and they were spending their way further and further into poverty with every frilly dress they bought me.
  
  I am hazy on the years between then and when I met Marius, a schoolboy that lived near me. He had the sweetest, most cherubic face. His golden curls framed his dimpled cheeks like woven honey. We were friends, I think, though perhaps that is only the wishes of a heartsick youth. For my birthday one year, he gave me a locket that his mother had given him. It was simple, heart-shaped, with his own name inscribed on it. I treasured it.
  
  At one point, a strange, tired looking man paid Cosette's mother's debt to my parents and took the girl to raise as his own. I was told he became a successful factory manager.
  
  Ah, but as I said, happy times were not to last. The inn slowly fell into disrepair even as the world exploded into chaos around us. Once I'd passed from childhood, my mother no longer saw me as a dress-up doll and instead viewed me as somewhat of a threat, oddly. She and my father forced me to go into the streets and steal for them. Eventually I grew fed up with it and, around ten-and-four years of age, I abandoned them and lived with a small group of urchins for a time. Ironically, it was the very same urchins who had begged for scraps at the steps of childhood home.
  
  Marius grew more and more serious as the rebellion hit a high point. He spoke of a revolution, class warfare. His fiery words gave me heart that the world would someday return to the simplicity and happiness I had once known. Woe upon those who rely on hope as I did, for usually 'tis dashed before their eyes before long.
  
  During this time, Marius and Cosette met quite by accident and... fell in love. He went on and on about her beauty and grace, not knowing what terrible pain he was causing me. For some reason unknown to me, Cosette and her father fled in the night, but not before she left a note for Marius. My heart grew cold with jealousy and I hid the note away.
  
  Then came the time of the battle, where many of Marius' friends were slain. As I crept along the battlements, fearing for his life, I saw a soldier take aim at his heart. I flung myself in front of him and caught the bullet in my chest. Marius embraced me as I sunk to the ground. The feeling of his arms cradling me so tenderly mixed with the wrenching agony was an indescribable concoction of pleasure and pain. I revealed to him my feelings, handed him Cosette's letter with trembling, red-stained hands, then the world was sucked from my eyes.
  
  The wound had not been fatal, it seems, for when I awoke I was in the hovel of an young apothecary owner and his homely wife. He had found me on the battlefield, surrounded by the bodies of fallen students and my poor, dear Gavroche. It seems that the locket Marius had given me, which I still wear, had saved me life. And so it was then, ashamed and alone, that I began to travel the Earth, forever attempting to find some glimpse of cheer that I once held."
