- Echoes of the past February 15th 2021
  
  After a long time away from the island, I was forced to return because, unfortunately, I was down to my last few coins, and there's little in terms of honest work out there for someone like me. Though I had wanted to separate myself from it all, to go and never look back, I guess I could never truly stay away for long. All I wanted was to make enough coin for the top-shelf stuff again, but my first night back, before I'd gotten even a lick of liquor in me, I was called to the infirmary because I was the only doctor around. Go figure. Oh well, easy coin, right? I thought it would be simple until I walked in and, who should I see, but my own splitting image, the spawn I never even wanted to acknowledge. Stupid little shit had tried her luck in the arena and gotten a leg lobbed off. At least it was mostly clean. After managing the rest of the disaster that was the menagerie stumbling in with all sorts of injuries, I could finally fix her up - well, at least well enough to fit her for a prosthetic in the future. I can't believe she can even bring herself to talk to me after my absence in her life... But I still want nothing to do with her. The minute she's out of my care as a patient, that's the end of it.

  I have been trying so hard to stay under the radar, to keep myself on the straight and narrow (or at least insofar as I can given my profession), anything to avoid the risk of drawing more attention to myself than necessary. But then, who should show up except for my old friend Rahvin? And, even after an unfortunate drunken mishap where I accidentally stabbed the poor bastard in the lung (which was, by the way, partially his own damn fault), he seems eager enough to resume our old racket again. What can I say? After such a long bout of living a plain and boring life, the thrill of it is irresistible (not to mention it means more coin to keep the liquor flowing). Looks like we're back in business...
