  From your bed-chamber you could only guess at the Piracy and general thuggishness that runs rife in the streets like a pack of hungring rats. Steel yourself! for your humble author means to guide you into that very darkness. Picture if you will, a villain in the shadows. A big, houndish man, full of charm and dark intent. Smelling of rum, and a muskier scent you might guess to be the mark of something from the sea. • Dargonesti

  A rumor is spoken by the crew of the Valdys and others who have heard tales of Captain Halloway. They say he seems just at home on land and ship, as he is in the sea. He has scuttled ships, deep below the waves, with nothing but a diving bell, and seems not to suffer from the same ailments as other deep divers. Many a time, during a battle with another ship, Krise and another would fall into the water during a scuffle... They'd be under for what seemed like an eternity, and always it was the captain who came back from the brine. Such fantastical stories have lead to many speculation. If one were to go to the source, Krise himself. He'd simply say he was born to the sea, and she alone holds the key to his demise... When she calls for him, he will answer. This only fuels the speculation. Many have said that his father was merman, or his mother made a deal with one of the Gods of the sea. Though there is one tale that seems to hold the most merit... The story of the creatures of the deep, the Dargonesti, a race of elves that rarely react with the surface dwellers. The Dargonesti (or Quoowahb in their native tongue) are a race of sea elves who possess slender bodies with long, webbed fingers and toes. They have large, violet eyes, dark blue skin, and hair that varies from a golden colour to deep green, very much like the colour of seaweed. Though Krise has few of their features, being how malleable elven genetics are, and how they can seamlessly evolve to their environments, made a perfect emulsifier with Krise's husky matriarch. Giving him many of their abilties, with only a few different characteristics to his form. Though it is only rumors among patrons, and sailors alike. It is quite true.

• Tell ye what...

  A canine whose life began on the seas, under the decks of a ship. No one is sure on his birth right, not even himself. Mother died in child birth. No one knew who the father was, so the boy grew up a bastard, but never alone. He was taken in by the crew, became the captain's cabin boy. His mother before she had died had come to be in the company of men, most would call scoundrels, Swashbucklers, or even pirates. The pillaged, they scuttled, and scavenged. The young pup was thrown into this world of debauchery and other wise despicable life style, and he flourished. He was good with a sword by the age of ten. 15 he could load a flintlock quicker than most. He could work a ship, man a crows nest. Navigate open waters. He was a sea dog, he knew there were other paths, and he had the opportunities to do just that. He loved the life, the open sea.
  
  Though the life has its highs, it also has its spirit crushing lows. A pirate's life means living on a razor's edge between life and death. Always hunted by those who wish the bounty and fame of killing known pirates, or those slighted by a scoundrel's deeds. It was such man hunt that had left his ship with a crew of seventy-five sunk low into the abyss of the deep blue... With only Krise as the sole survivor. Floating through the water realms on nothing more than floating debris. What happened next was a mystery, but weeks later he emerged from the ocean, weak but alive. His life since then has followed the same path. He didn't seem to react at all to the deaths of his old crew.
  
  It has been years since he was the sole survivor of that event, he doesn't know who was responsible. Nor does he really ever mention it. The only one he confides such memories to is the mind numbing rot gut. Now? It was life as usual! Without a ship or a crew he now searches either to fund his own ship or crew. Or join with an existing band of scoundrels.
  
  As his time within the realm of Guildereim continued the pirate has made enough gold to buy himself a frigate, and hire a crew... The ship was big and bulky, not his usual cup of rum. He liked a smaller ship, still big enough to pack a wallop, but fast enough to out maneuver the larger ships. He has started recruiting officers and though the ships launch has been plagued by unseen repairs and things of that nature, the Valdys is finally ready to slip from the port, and carve a bloody path to riches and fortune.
  
  A short two years time had passed since he had acquired that frightful Frigate, and upon it's decks he and his bloodthirsty crew had carved a gore stained name for themselves. For some time merchant ships freely surrendered, they could take a prize without a shot fired. The Valdys pirates grew wealthy, and then their name vanished into thin air. When they returned, Krise once again at their top. No longer a captain, but a Commandant. The pirates were no longer pirates. They were employees of the Halloway and Sons Shipping Company. The vicious sea wolf had returned, with sons! And with a darkness in his already blood stained soul. The crew of his new ship, the Luthana II built in memory of the first ship the Husky had ever sailed upon. Now it was not merchant ships, but the Royal Navy of Albion that the Valdys targeted... Both ships now working in tandem. The crews always whispering that the man had some sort of death wish. Attacking His Majesty's Ships was foolish, there would be consequences. Dire consequences. No one man could face down an entire nation. Though their worries fell on deaf ears. Krise could not hear it.
  
  What was to become of this new company, this blight upon the seas... Incorporated? Only time, and one man could tell. The Dreaded Commandant Halloway, The Sea Wolf. The master of the crimson tides.
