On the surface, Panther Corps is a moderately well-known company dealing in technology, pharmaceuticals, and weapons development. The company's president, Harry Sherill, is an engaging man who usually appears in the news to announce some new thing to benefit all humanity.

In actuality, it is a highly-organized militia, run by the officially non-existent Armitage Carmichael and focused on the containment and eradication of supernatural beings. Their methods and equipment are primarily tech-oriented, but they also incorporate magic as necessary. In addition to extermination, agents often capture supernatural beings for study in Panther Corps' labs, usually to better determine how the creature works and, thus, how to more cleanly and easily destroy it; occasionally, some creatures will be bred and re-purposed as tools to find and destroy others.
