I N T R O D U C T I O N
A boy and a queer meet and...

Eliotte initially began as an idea to compliment my first character, Elizabeth. I sought a family, and more importantly, a story to build her upon and came up with the 'kid brother' trope. To say the least, Eliotte captured my heart within days, and I was hooked. He began as a laughable attempt to fit a continuity that was unstable, in which he was presented with a plethora of dark themes. We have been writing partners for the better half of ten years and counting, and never once have I considered Eliotte's history to be anything more than a recounting of those earlier stages of his story. Eliotte was a challenge for me to gain footing on, but once we started, I have never stopped. While he continues to surprise me as a character, you should know that the elements of his story that may confuse, entice or concern you were at one point written by myself and someone else. I never go unsurprised by his development and further growth, and cannot wait to see where he continues to take us.
For better or worse, this character has always been dear to my heart, and is someone I refuse to stop writing anytime soon. I implore you to join me on the journey of Eliotte, for he truly is a work of art. My personal masterpiece. A justifiable investment in both your time and your words.
P R O L O G U E
A series of unfortunate events

Eliotte came from a place of love. His history can be summed up as a series of unfortunate events that he found the good in. Optimistic to say the least, he and his sibling (Elizabeth, my initial creation) are two foster kids who cut themselves out of the system and hitched a ride to America to start a new life. Despite being houseless, their lives were full of adventure and positivity. Eliotte does not view his childhood as a negative experience, despite losing the opportunity at a basic education. During his life on the streets, he learned many valuable survival skills, as well as great ways to make extra money. He's an expert musician and artist with a trained singing voice. A miniature entrepreneur in the making, Eliotte established himself through busking and learning to cut hair. He sold his services to fellow individuals on the streets and was treated especially kind by local sex workers who utilized his styling services during his teenage years.
He found exceptional beauty in his older sister and began to look critically at himself. During this time, Elizabeth had begun to take a keen interest in dark magic and sought experimentation. Desiring a beauty he could not otherwise have, she performed a spell upon him, which granted Eliotte beautiful wings and a pair of vine-line antennae. Initially, he was overcome with happiness after struggling to find the beauty in his ordinary self. However, when the side effects of dark magic began to cause him illness, stunted growth and trouble with his human body, both he and his sister decided that it was best to provide Eliotte with a different genetic background.
Thus, a butterfly was born.

Lessons learned

This was where Eliotte's story began. I sought much development and story-writing for this image-troubled 16-year-old, and found roleplay was sparse and insignificant. During this time, I struggled to fit Eliotte into several continuities while keeping true to what I wanted for the character. I established his story in The Golden Tether and found it difficult with regard to the continuity I truly desired. During this time, RPR had yet to be born and modern roleplay on Furcadia was a highly difficult and pointless game of Where's Waldo? I ran with character development through The Golden Tether, but did not want to sacrifice the years of development and story-telling that I had created with Eliotte. I transferred his days of slavery into days of human trafficking, and the relationships he'd established in a far different time period have become transferrable into something modern. Eliotte underwent years of tough human trafficking and sexual abuse at the hands of a horrible individual. When he escaped, it was a rebirth for both Eliotte and I. He began to try to create a quality life for himself and felt the only way he would be successful was by seeking out a partner and beginning a life with them. Unfortunately, none of his desired relationships turned out, and instead he was left abandoned and hurt. To this day, Eliotte equates agony with being abandoned by his romantic partners. He comes from a background of domestic violence and sexual assault and employs drug use and alcohol abuse to cope with both trauma and phobias. After many years of intense abuse, he has channelled his hurt into anger and violence.
The 'broken boy' trope quickly gained traction, while Eliotte struggled to cope and establish a nuclear family (his most desired fantasy.) Having never had the opportunity to develop concrete long-term romantic relationships, he grasps at anyone who will give him the time of day and thunder grips long standing emotional relationships, regardless if they are mutually beneficial or not. Occasionally, Eliotte struggles with his sexuality due to trauma, and may become dismissive to the prospect of sex or, quite differently, incredibly hypersexual. He's been married twice, engaged thrice, and has had his heart broken countless times. Whoever chooses to take Eliotte through the rest of his life is fortunate to have such a loyal, loving and devoted partner.
With love as the leading theme of this character, you can also expect several adult themes such as sexuality, drug and alcohol use, self mutilation and sabotage; and of course - violence. Everything Eliotte has lived through has built him up after being torn down time and time again. This time, he really believes he's got a grasp on his future.
Having lived and died in the name of love, Eliotte swapped his soul for the addition of years to someone else's life. He was initially granted the position of a Soul Eater for his sacrifice, but Eliotte applied himself diligently and swapped his 'butterfly' identity for that of a demon. Through a unique skill set, he is able to conjure wings identical to the ones his insect self used to possess, but he certainly doesn't play the part of a butterfly any longer.

While Eliotte and I have a future, I know one day that our story telling will inevitably come to an end. I'm excited by the prospect of seeing where Eliotte will take us and implore you, the reader, to come along with us on a journey of self-discovery. Eliotte has never come short of amazing me, and in turn my partners. I hope to challenge myself to create stories that inspire me as a person, and challenge my morals. Eliotte will forever live on in my heart, whether we end our writing relationship sooner or later. I have dedicated myself so intensely to this character that we share tattoos. Eliotte has single-handedly been the cause and effect of my own personal growth, and I cannot thank him enough for that. While you have carried yourself through learning more about my finest creation, I want to thank you for your time and commitment to us. I hope we can inspire you just as much as Eliotte has inspired me.

ABILITIES

Soul-selling on your agenda? Eliotte must meet a certain percentage of deals cut between him and the mortal race. Trading your devotion to his God for a better storyline, more monetary wealth or physical beauty are all things Eliotte is well-equipped to handle. While he himself will never be the leader of your character's future, he's happy to bridge the gap between yours and Hell.
- WING CONJURATION
Conjuration and manipulation of his wings come to Eliotte with little concentration. Two beautiful stained glass replicas serve to entice the mortal mind and work wonders in swaying the supernatural, too. While Eliotte's wings serve no purpose other than to add to his beauty, they work to his advantage to capture attention and work his way under the skin of the vulnerable.
- PYROKINESIS
Conjuration and manipulation go hand in hand. The development of a spark ignites a flame. Eliotte can wield a flame as large as a melon and can manipulate the flame to travel wide distances.
- IMMORTALITY
While immortal in some aspects, Eliotte's soul cannot perish unless at the hands of his God. However, his physical vessel can take damage just as easily as any other. Should his vessel be unable to sustain itself, he will be forced to find a new one and abandon his current body.
- HEALING
While able to heal others, Eliotte finds that his healing efforts are moot upon himself. The physical trade-off for his efforts means that he must endure the same feelings of trauma for as long as the affected party has. While his bones will not break if he heals yours, the sensation of pain will be just as intense as if he were the one harmed in the first place.
- TELEPORTATION
While shoddy, Eliotte is able to move himself and other demons, witches, or soul-eaters through great distances with incantation. This requires an intense degree of concentration and often winds him up hurt on the other end. Falling from the sky never feels good.
WEAKNESSES

More than likely to just burn Eliotte, holy water is the equivalent of a hot iron and incredibly disarming. His flesh will bubble and burn, his insides will feel lava hot and his vessel will take significant damage.
- EXORCISM
A vessel is a vessel, even if you were born with it. Should someone grow keen on Eliotte's new duties, it is possible that exorcism could discharge his soul from his home vessel and send him looking for another.
- IRON

- SALT
Unable to cross a line of salt, Eliotte is physically unable to step over or into defined parameters of salt.
- DEVIL'S TRAP/SIGILS
Inscribing certain sigiles on the ground can trap Eliotte should he step within one.
