Avariella

Born a Bastard of Milliare, the female was the product of a noble man, and a bar wench.
Unknown to her father, Savanth Devine, Avariella came into the world by one Ella Barry, a screaming bundle that bared more resemblance to her father than her mother. She was his facial double, even baring the same hybrid tail and tall ears that became the butt of every joke to the peasant children of Millaire. She never managed to make friends, the feline-hybrid constantly feeling like an oddity, and out of place. She wasn't a confident infant, only finding herself after she turned thirteen.

No matter how much Ava ate, even as a child she remained rake thin, her ribs always prominent; one meal a day was the norm, however, as the mother struggled to keep the roof over their heads.
The bar she ran was centred on the outskirts of the city, a dump that attracted the roughest crowd. It was simple, small and lacked decor - yet it was never absent of customers. From the moment she turned nine, Ava was put to work glass collecting and washing. As time went on, Ava became a barmaid at fifteen; uneducated and unclean, it was only her wit and scrappy attitude that kept her out of too much trouble with the customers at the bar. She had a reputation as a biter, too.

But that reputation wasn't enough to keep tragedy at bay when, only a few months after her first shift, the wyrmme's came.
They were on their path of destruction, on their way to seize Guilderim, and Ava's little town was caught in the cross-hairs. Her bar and home were destroyed and looted, and in the midst of the fight, her mother suffered a fatal blow.
Despite the fact that Ella had never told Ava of her origin, a signed letter from her mother named her to be the child of one Savanth Devine - and promptly instructed her into his care.

The day after her mothers final farewell, Ava was thrust into the care of a very surprised father. They clashed more than once over the few years they were together.
Ava's stuborness was a reflection of Vanth's own, and they only brought out the worst in each other. And yet, that fire was lit with a love that neither would truly understand.

On her sixteenth birthday, Ava was presented with an envelope; inside, was documentation of her birth, and for the first time in her life, Avariella had a surname.
Vanth had named her his, claiming her and naming her next of kin to his estate.

And yet, the happiness Ava felt was not to last.
Finally having rooted herself to the Devine manor, her life was thrown into turmoil as the happy household crumbled. Sigele, her fathers wife, and someone Ava had slowly begun to look to as family, had left, taking with her Ava's unborn half-sibling. In one fell swoop, Ava's life was destroyed -- Vanth, unable to look at the home any longer, sold it. Ava was given a portion of her inheritance money to live off, and then the Devine Lord left, leaving Ava in the company of her horse, and the stable boyof the estate.

As Ava said goodbye to her second home, she found herself filled with anger -- anger at the woman who had destroyed her father in such a way.
While she hasn't crossed paths with Sigele again yet, Ava has never forgotten the pain of that day as she walked away from the very home she had finally gotten used to.

Together, the stable boy, Ava, and their two horses made a living; between acting as a carriage driver and stable hand, he taught her the art of breaking and training horses.
By the age of eighteen, Ava had got her own placement as rough-rider for several families across Guilderim, and has so far been successful.

Occasionally she will visit the establishment of The Golden Tether, either to seek out new business, or for pleasure.
