In an alternate universe where Midgard counted as one of the Ten Worlds (or "the Northern Heavens" as they're called in this universe), the gods were cruel and power-hungry. Loki and his children railed against their regime. They, along with the jotnar of Jotunnheim were intent on taking them down, freeing the realms from tyranny and opening it up to chaos. Loki, for his part, saw it as a good thing.
Fenrir defended his father and sister, Hela, as they tried to bring upon the end of the other gods, including slaying Sleipnir, his own brother, and even taking down Odin. Of this, he remembers little, save for the bright flash of light as the Allfather was slain. However, he was cut down by Odin’s son, Víðarr/Vidarr, and thus cruelly kept from reigning beside his father as he had wished.
Now he has awakened - trapped - in the body of a mortal. Liam Mordre du Loup ("Bite of the Wolf", poetic irony at its best) who was born to a well-off mortal couple in New Orleans in November of 1982. He was a well-behaved, if soft-spoken child, had a normal upper-class childhood, and attended private school all the way through middle school, at which point he was sent away to a boarding preparatory academy. After this, he attained an Master's in Animal Sciences, got his certification as a veterinarian, and moved to New York after being offered a position as lead veterinarian at the animal hospital there.
When Liam came to Alfheim, the overwhelming magical energy that pervaded the very air awakened the memories of his past life (or some of them), and since then his personality can sometimes take a complete 180 degree turn. After nearly four decades of assuming himself to be human, Liam has come to know that Fenrir is a part of him, body and soul. Runic magic keeps his spirit and power on a leash he can never break away from.

He remembers little of his past life as the wolf of legend, as the trauma of Ragnarok and subsequent rebirth upon the mortal plane of Midgard has left him with only flashes of blood, screams, and a brilliant light emanating from the Allfather after Loki, Fenrir's father slew him. It had been fated that Fenrir would slay Odin, so whether this was Loki's attempt to save his son from a fate worse than death in the misty halls of Nifleheim, or simply a selfish desire to do in the king himself, is unknown. Thor struck the wolf-god down, dashing his plans of ruling the remnants of the realms with his father.
Fenrir was reborn to a well-off mortal couple in New Orleans and named Liam Mordre du Loup ("Bite of the Wolf", poetic irony at its best) in November of 1980. He was a well-behaved, if soft-spoken child, had a normal upper-class childhood, and attended private school all the way through middle school, at which point he was sent away to a boarding preparatory academy. After this, he attained an Master's in Animal Sciences, got his certification as a veterinarian, and moved to San Angeles after being offered a position as lead veterinarian at the animal hospital there.
Once he arrived, however, the overwhelming magical energy that pervaded the very air awakened the memories of his past life (or some of them), and since then his personality has taken a complete 180 degree turn. After nearly four decades of assuming himself to be human, Liam has come to know that Fenrir is a part of him, body and soul. Moreover, there are others like him: gods, reborn into this mortal plane. He has met Sleipner/Sleipnir, his half-brother. The meeting went well, until they realized who the other was and nearly tore each other apart in a dark alleyway. Ah, well. Family matters, you know how that can be.
